In my town we have a great way of recyclin peoples unwanted useful goods. On line is a site called Weyport recycle you can advertise for free! Its for people who have useful items they do not need anymore, you can ask for things and you can give things . Recently I was given a rowing machine, all you have to do is reply to the add and if you are lucky its yours. I have seen fridges being offered, washing machines, bikes, clothing for babies, prams, toys and much much more. If this is in your town use it you may pick up a bargain?

Wow what a fantastic idea honey! I wish we had something like that here as I am sure many people could make fantastic use of it! I would like to try and organise something like this but have no idea where to begin! maybe when I get back from my holiday I will try and look into it and maybe approach the council about it! xxx

We have Freecycle here around the Seattle area for quite a few of the different areas. Sometimes it is harder to get something due to how big the area is, but we have gotten quite a few things on there, and gave away quite a few items as well. I am glad there are sites such as this though to help you out when $$ might otherwise be tight.

Here it's called Freecycle and I'm a member of 3 groups in my county. So far, all I've done is offered stuff and wanted one thing to which noone responded to so guess I'm going to have to go out and buy it brand new.

Sounds like a great site. After all, one man's trash is another man's treasure. Freecycle is in most areas. To find one in your area go to yahoo groups and search for it.

We have the same thing in my area, only it's called free cycle. I haven't gotten anything from it but used it to find a good home for some baby hamsters I had. It is a great thing to use.

Here in the States we have the same thing in many cities it is called Freecycle. I joined and as a member I get emails daily advising me of each item to be given away and then I am notified when someon has claimed it.

We have something simular to that called a freecycle and it works pretty much the same. I've used it once or twice over the years and it worked out fine. We also just recently found out that Goodwill put a drop off box up at the local grocery store so now we can put things in there and they take them back to their thrift store to sell. Hi Gollywog, thats great that you have this facility in your town. I use one called Freecycle which is worldwide but they have local area sections. I have given away numerous items and have received also. The best find was in fact for a neighbour and it was a brand new orthopedic bed that the couple needed to get rid of as it was too hard for them and they were moving that day and didn't want to take with, wow.
