Yeah, it can cause damage. I was born far-sighted, so I've always had to wear glasses to look at a computer screen or to read. I'm good with televisions, since I don't sit terribly close to them, but computer screens bother me. It's REALLY bad if I look at a white screen with black text without glasses.
