Help me out. I think I;m a geek yet I haven't come out yet. How does one really know for sure? Are there any outwards manifestations? Is the fact that I;m on Mylot the whole day make me a geek?

Er, i don't know where you live or what your situation is, but being a 'geek' isn't so bad. I'm one, and my school even has its own little geek clique. As such, it doesn't require you to 'come out', but do what you will. Being geeky doesnt really have any requirements, but liking tech stuff and games and information and obscure things help. Being on mylot all day does not make you a geek anymore than someone that uses myspace all day. But if you are interested in friggin awesome geekish things, i suggest thinkgeek.com or jinx.com. they have shirts and toys and much caffine so you can be on mylot all night, too.

Sometimes I feel like I'm kind of a nerd. But I don't worry about labels and such. However, the stereotypical knows a lot of information about something that most people don't think about on a daily basis. That's where I'd fall into this category, lol. I'm a die hard film buff. And I say 'buff' not 'geek'. So in the long run it's better to just be yourself.

You're not a geek if you are not sure lol
Besides being a geek isn't bad because a geek is simply a person with extensive knowledge on a subject. Geeks are the people that other go to to find out information about things that they either don't know or don't know where to look. The power of being a geek is extraordinary because you have knowledge that few may have and others come to YOU for enlightenment. That is like being a professor in what you love and that is something that you should be proud of.
