I'm thinking of becoming a puppy walker for the seeing eye dog organization in my state. You get a 7 week old puppy, and raise him until he's about a year old. You train them the basics and socialize them and give them lots of love and confidence. Has anyone else done this? I'm very interested in doing this type of volunteer work, and have always had dogs. I was going to get another dog, but I feel that this would be an amazing way to change someone's life. Any one else have this idea before or has done it before? I'm really excited to here your responses!

I have aclose friend who is a puppy walker, she has done 5 dogs already. It is more work than you realize though, you are "pre" training them and can not really treat them like a pet. You can love them and give them lots off affection, but once the vest goes in you and the dog are in training mode.
The very last one just went to a disabled vet.

Kudos to you! It's very nice of you to take on this kind of volunteer work, not only for the dog but also for the person the dog will be staying with in the future. I've never been able to train any of my dogs properly so I know that kind of work is not for me. :) If you have doggie skills, then go ahead and sign up! It's going to be hard to let go of the dog once you two have formed a bond, but I'm sure someone else will really need him or her. :)
