don't you think that smileys are used way too much

these days the thing to do is use smileys for every other thing. i feel it de emphasises the discussion. what do you think?

Yes yes yes! I cannot stand the things. I call them "measles" because they spread like a rash across peoples posts and discussions. I feel that if you don't have the words to describe how you are feeling then don't say anything at all. I agree with you entirely. Welcome to myLot by the way.
