Who knows if this is the actual way? All that can really exist are interpretations of what is going to happen, because otherwise it wouldn't be a surprise. The Bible says that nobody knows the time of Rapture, so presumably nobody knows HOW it's going to happen, either.
And yeah, some "good people" were left behind, but those who were raptured were the true believers in Christ. The "good people" like the pastor did not truly accept Christ into their hearts as their savior, hence they did not get raptured like everyone else. That's the only criteria to get into Heaven: that you accept God as Lord in your life. Being good has nothing to do with it.
I'll get off my soapbox now :)

You are quite right in your comment. We are talking about one guy's interpretation of how true believers will be raptured. No soap box stance, just truth and I appreciate that. I was just wondering about the calamity that will take place from the Rapture alone, if LaHaye & Jenkins interpretation is even close to being correct. That no doubt would be the start of the Tribulation period.

The Pastor got left behind, because he was being a hypocrit. He spoke Gods words, but for the money. There is no fooling God. He knows your heart, and if you're not in wright standings with Him, you'll get left behind, when it comes times. I haven't read the books, but seen the first 3 movies of the series. They are good.
Look for them, to watch, on the Internet. But by God's grace, I have the movies, already. If you can't find them Online, go to the Christian bookstores. They should
be able to order them in for you. Part 1 is called, Left Behind - The Rapture, the
second 1 is called, Left Behind - Tribulation Fource, and the most latest one is
called, Left Behind - World At War. Good luck to you.
