How many cups of coffee do you drink in a day?
I used to drink up to 5-6 cups per day; but then it tended to 'heat' me up; so I cut down to 3 now. I tried to substitute with tea; the last time I drank tea before bedtime, I couldn't sleep the whole night. I can't get thru a day without at least a cup of coffee - though during the times when I fell sick with fever or flu, I had to skip. The longest period I ever went through without coffee was 3 days.
What's your experience?

In an average day, I'll drink most of a pot of coffee, 5-6 cups. Some days, I can drink about twice that. In a bad day, I'll only have 2 or 3 cups.

Too much of anything could really be bad.I take 3 cups on the average.I have no problem with caffeine but as much as possible I drink healthy coffee. By this I mean herb based coffee or those with agaricus mushroom, grapeseed, ginseng, spirulina, etc. They cost a little bit more but they taste great and will definitely give that much needed caffeine dose for coffeeholics with the health bonus.

Ginseng is really an energy booster so it's best to save that for an adrenalin-filled day.You can find coffee with chamomile for relaxation.Good luck!

I love green tea rather than coffee. I think for most of the Chinese people drinking tea everyday is the habbit rather than drinking coffee.
I nearly know nothing about coffee and I only drink coffee mixed with milk and sugar and never black coffee. The mixed coffee is delicious in my opinion, but it is just a kind of drink sometims I want to have a taste. And the frequency is about once per two weeks.
I don't know if there is addiction on drinking coffee. My experience is just drinking something even water, and you will not want to drink anything. If you feel sleepy without coffee, it does't matter. Have a rest to recover and continue to work. Hold on for some days, you will feel better without coffee.
I know it is easy to speak than to do. Just hope you live a healthy life.

I drink more in the winter months than in the summer months. Winter, five to six cups a day, all in the morning and then tea in the afternoon. Summer, two to three cups with some days tea is drank in the afternoon. I have gone off it for a month at a time just to let my system clean itself out - usually when I have had trouble sleeping at night for an extended period.

I have found that it has helped. Whether it is the lack of caffeine or reduced stress I don't know. But usually this is in the summer months when I crave coffee less.

Coffee is not my cup of tea. My intake of tea is more than coffee. I do not take coffee on empty stomach because it cause some discomfort. I also heard that too much caffeine is not good for health. Coffee is also not good for people who find difficulty in sleeping. Not sure if too much coffee can cause cancer, will it? So try to reduce coffee. Try drinking more tea.

I drink one to two cups of coffee a day, when I go to The Second Cup, to use their wireless hot spot. They're just up the street from my place, so they are close. They are very GOOD too.

Hi lazeebee, for me coffee is the best beverage among all. I always consider that my day is incomplete if without a cup of aromatic coffee for the day. I know to take excessive coffee is not good for our health so nowadays I endeavor not to take more than two cups of hot coffee a day. To me no other beverages could substitute coffee, for the taste and the fragrance of it is unique.
I do like to take Chinese tea and I know they are quite good for our health. Besides coffee, most of the time I take black tea in the morning and green tea in the afternoon to quench my thirst.
posting and have a nice day.

Yup, the smell of aromatic coffee - you remind me; I must make a cup after this post !
I read somewhere that coffee keeps our mind agile (I don't know if that meant hyper-active), and that it slows down senility . Right or wrong, I often use this, when my hubby comments that I'm drinking too much coffee!
We take Chinese tea, and green tea too! The only problem is that I can't sleep if I take too much tea in the evening!
Anyway, thanks for responding and have a good day!

I don't think I have ever gone three days without coffee. I don't think I have gone a single day without any coffee. Normally I drink several cups, never less than four, sometimes as many as six, but often I don't remember how many I have had, so some days it could be more.
I know I drink too much coffee and I am trying to drink more green tea instead, as it is better for me. I never drink 'normal' tea because I don't take milk and I don't like the taste of black tea, but green tea is very nice and it's healthy.

Hie Bee, I do take them like tea occasionally. As too much coffee, I do get some palpitations while tea in the night, gives me the diuretic effects
I enjoy the latte, mocha, frappe, all of them...lol And goshhhhh....with so many flavors nowadays, it is certainly crazy not to try them.
My new colleagues are real coffee drinkers and sips them from morning till evenings to keep them awake
Cheers and bottoms up!

Hi Zhao, coffee is something that you'd like or not at all. Some people would find it bitter!
I've been drinking for so many years - I think I took my first cup when I started working, and have been addicted to it ever since!
So have a try, and let me know how it tastes, and whether you like it! Thanks for responding and have a good day!

My mom can have atleast 8-10 cups/day. My boyfriend(husband) can have as much as that, too.
Researches say that coffee have good health benefits. I think that way too. In the mornings after having coffee, I have to unload and free the waste in the toilet bowl. Amazing effect and I think the fiber rich ingredient is very beneficial.
Having cups of coffee in the graveyard shifts will make the call center representative to be up, awake and enthusiastic. I think without those cups of coffee my virtual job would have been disastrous. I would've been caught on the napping mode within the cubicle.
Coffee is my boyfriend's companion when he is doing his computer stuffs. An alternate for short meals.
I can gulp coffee without sugar when it's hot. Coffee can also be prepared to chill us out. An instant coffee shaken altogether in a container with ice cubes. Refreshing that keeps us up.
I don't think I can manage to stay without a cup in how many days. The absence of coffee in the veins seem to create watery mouth feeling that will just lead to food indulgence.
