How well do you get along with your sister(s)?

How many sisters do you have and what is your relationship with them like? I have two younger sisters and we've pretty much lost touch with each other over the years but we communicate from time to time. When we were growing up I was closer to the one who was closest in age to me but she's also the mean one so I actually liked my baby sister more. She's about 8 years younger than I am though so we didn't get to spend too much time together until we were all married with children.

Hi Spalladino,
I have no biological sister. I do have a step-sister that was my first cousin first. I have known her her whole life. I am three years older and live very far away. She was the oldest in her family and I am the oldest in my family. We are both very set in our ways. Not much willingness to change either. We are very cordial to each other, and respect each other's way of life. I completely adore her kids. I have more contact with them than with her.
I had always wanted a sister, but decided that I was so much better off just having brothers. I had three of them. They were a real good challenge throughout my life.
I really do admire those that do have sisters and can get along with them, especially if they are close. It means so much when you have one your entire life. Enjoy your sister, and show them your best side at all times.
Happy posting..

I have 2 younger sisters and am close with both of them. My middle sister lives about a thousand miles away but i talk to her about every day every other day. My baby sister just graduated from high school so she is doing her thing right now, im sure once she is done having her "Fun time" hanging out she will spend more time with me and my kids like she used to. Im the only one of us girls who has kids. My brother is older and he has a little girl and me and him are pretty close as well. Im real family oriented, i love my sisters and would do just about anything for them. i guess that goes along with the way i was raised. My momma raised me very well!! :)

I have four sisters and a brother.
The two sisters that live closest to me I get along with pretty well. One of them I'm close to, talk to every single day, etc. The other one, I get along with her, but since we don't have anything in common I don't actively seek her out.
One lives in Ohio. I don't talk to her, but if she would ever come to visit I wouldn't mind.
One lives in Pennsylvania and I don't speak to her at all nor have any need to get in contact. Same with my brother.

i only have one sister and she's like my second mother all along. she took care of me since high school and most of my college years. i lived with her those years in the city because my parent's house are located at the farm side of the city. an hour away from the city. so i needed to live near my school. my sister took care of almost everything i needed then.
we did lots of things that helped me grew better and know the facts of life -- bad and good. until now, she's one of my mentor. few years ago she went out of town and decided to live there for good. i was saddened but our communication still there, regularly. we talk things everyday..

I only have one sister who is 2 years younger than me. We have really never had close sister relationship. Our mother passed away when we were young and growing up we fought ALOT!! And she did some pretty mean things. Today it is a little better. She lives about an hour away and we talk on the phone a couple times a week. But stil to this day if we were to spend a full week together...it would end up in a fight. We are completly different in every way, I think that is why we don't always get along. But she is my sister and just last week I tried to call her for three days and could not get ahold of her...I was worried sick...come to find out that she was in the hospital. It made me realize that even though we fight and she drives me crazy...I still love her.

I have 3 sisters younger than me. Peg and Pat are twins and are 46 years old, and I don't have much contact with them. Our lives are very differnt and do not see things the same way. My sister Tina is 43 years old and we hang out together all the time. We have the same intrest and likes, and alot of the same values. One of our biggest passions is digital photography and we try to meet atleast once a week to go on photo shoots. Our work can be seen on flickr.com, my user name is ssweet2323 and tinas user name is cooperdooper77. We post alot of our pictures there and do alot of photo editing there also. We also like to garden and go camping. We are going camping this weekend and take pictures while we are there. We go often to the Black River in Missouri at Suttons Bluff where the family has been camping for over 50 years now.

I do not have any real sister. We are two brother only. But I have very good relations with my cousin (sisters). I remain in touch with them and vice versa and I share my joys and sorrows with them, whenever need arises. I think relations between siblings are very important and we should always remain in touch, come what may.

I have one sister and no brothers, and although we've had our times, we get along fairly well now. We live quite a distance apart and don't spent much time together, but we do keep in touch.
My husband has four sisters and no brothers, and he would rather not keep in touch with them. It seems like some of them are always fighting - there's always tension because each one wants to be "in charge" of the family. We've found that we can't trust any of them and don't confide anything in any of them because it will get spread all over and blown out of proportion.

I have a sister that is 2 and a half years younger than I. She is not only my best friend, but my only friend as well. We see each other or talk to each other almost everyday. I trust her with anything. We fought like cats and dogs when we were children and really did not care for each other. As we grew into our 20's that all changed and we love each other dearly now. I can not imagine what I would do with out her.
I also have a brother that is 12 years younger than I and we are also very close. It was my job, when I was younger, to care for him...so he is almost like a son to me.

I have only one sister, and she's the youngest one. We live very near (about 10 km away), and would see each other at least once a week. Since I do not have any kids and she has 3 - I'm crazy about them. I'm very close to my sister since I took care when she was a baby (she's 10 years younger than me). We have different interests though we went shopping and holidays together (before marriage). Now we try to make time to shop or go for vacations together, but sometimes the school holidays and our work schedules clashes.

I don't have a sister. I have 4 brothers. When I was younger, I wished that I had 2 sisters. I wanted to have a big sister whom I can share some girl's talk or things and play with girls toys (barbie dolls, play kitchen, etc). I also wanted to have a baby sister to take care of and play with as well. But now that I'm not a little kid anymore and not want to play dolls, I don't wish to have sisters anymore. I have my brothers who loves me and take care of me. ;)

My sister is 9 years older and my brother is 6 years older. Growing up I got along pretty well with my sister, but it was hard because of the age difference. We've always kept in touch, but recently we've become closer, and it's great. I'm hoping she'll move back to my area soon so we can see each other more than we do now.

I have four half sisters. I am the only child of my father's second marriage and they are all from his first mariage. Growing up we always just said we were sisters - the half was never mentioned at all. They were all quite a bit older than me but I still saw them fairly often even though we lived in different towns. As I became an adult I got closer to them and made a point to try and see them as often as I could. Then in 1999 when my father passed away things started to change. They never came to visit me or my mom anymore, only on rare occasions. Then in 2005 when my grandmother became very ill, I went back and forth, out of town, helping with her care because she meant the world to me. My sisters were there too, and we actually got to spend more time with each other during those few months. Sadly, she passed away that same year and it was like our family totally fell apart. Now only one of my sisters ever calls me or my mom and she lives in a different state and only gets to come back to Ky about once a year. I don't know exactly what happened or why. All I know is that I miss them all and I wish we could all be as close as we once were.

I have two younger sisters, they are mylotters too. They annoy me like how little sisters are supposed to but besides that we get on quite well really. We all live in the same town now, when the youngest one moved to London, me and the middle one felt like we were a jigsaw with a missing piece, we're all complete now that she's back here.
I feel the need to look after both of them, maybe it's because I am 6 years older than one and 7 years older than the other. It's funny though because they both look after me too!
It's funny how the middle one's usually meaner than the other two, in our case I think it depends on our moods at the time as to who's the meanest.
It's a shame you dont keep in touch more often, it's lovely having sisters in a way, it's like ready-made friends.

i am the oldest of four girls and one boy. My three sisters live away from me and its not that I dont try to keep in touch I dont think they know how. I am closest to my middle sister but my youngest sister has a great interlect and I love having big discussions with her. My middle sister is my heart sister as I call her, she knows every thing about my heart! my sister who is only two years younger has a hard exterior and I find it hard to get close she keeps every body at arms length.

I have 3 sisters, we all get along pretty much. I have one that gets mad easy, if you don't want to do what she wants you to do,she'll get mad and you won't hear from her for a few days, but she always gets over it. I have one that works too much because she loves money, we get along alright, but you don't want to make her mad either, she can hold a grudge forever..lol. I have another sister, she's the mean loud one, I like her the best...lol. We don't see her too often because she lives apart from the rest of us, but she's a good sister, I just went and visited her this past weekend, we had fun. Me and her are the only ones that don't have children, the others do, and they are always getting into about their kids, why one gets in trouble and her kids don't, silly stuff like that...but we're all one big happy family, I also have a brother.

I only have one sister. She is six years younger than me. When she was born I really didn't want to go home from my aunts house when her and Mom came home. Later when I was a teen and had to watch her, I really didn't like that. Now that we are both grown and have families of our own we get along tremendously. We live about 2 hours apart, so really don't see each other much. We e-mail now and then and talk on the phone as well. But we always have a good time when we do get together!
