A piece of my heart and me and bobby mcgee are two of my favorites! I got to see her twice in Detroit, my hometown in the 60's, it was onlr $3.50 to get in and it was in an old ballroom not many seats. She was one of my favorites! Thanks for the memories!!!! tdemex

I started searching at the web after I listened to my favorite songs by Janis Joplin. I heard again "Me and Bobby McGee" but the first song was "Blowin in the wind". I did not remember she has sung it, I associated more to Joan Baez as female singers go. I love all her music and I also remember that time and get the best out of it.

I love Janis too, have since I first heard her when the mother of this grandson I'm holding was just a babe herself. I think I enjoyed "Pearl" more than I had any album to date, and it's still one of my favorites. I belted out "Me and Bobby McGee" right along with her. I feel amazed and a tad envious of the people her who actually saw her live, and went to parties she was at!! But then, living in a backwater like New Zealand which only came to life musically 15 or so years ago, I have always been cut off from the action :-)

I only bought her Greatest Hits a few days ago, but I was always attracted to Cry Baby, its such a fantastic song musically and lyrically.

Piece of my Heart is awesome and Mercedes Bendz and Bobby Mcgee were were highly successful songs for her. My favorites ones are more off beat and I think show her vulnerability. I would have to add Cry Babay, Maybe and To Love Somebody to my list of favorite Janis songs. She was an awesome talent that cannot be matched.

I love Janis. She is definitely my all time favorite. Me and Bobby McGee is the best.

Piece Of My Heart is an absolutely awsome song, but I'd have to say that my favourite is Me And Bobby McGee. Piece Of My Heart can be a little loud for me sometimes, with the guitars at the beginning. My husband used to party with Janis Joplin in the 1960's. I married an old hippie. I'll send this discussion along to him, and let him tell you all about it.
