I spent 1 year in preparatory, 6 years in elementary, 4 years in secondary, 1 year in Accounting, 4 years in pre-Clinical Dentistry, and another 2 years to finish my degree. I would always ask to myself, "when will this ever end?"
I am a student for 16 years. I am broke. I depend on my patient's money. I do not earn money at all. My parents feed me, clothe me, shelter me, and provide me with all the comforts in life. I am very thankful for that. However, being a student takes a lot of energy from myself. And sometimes, body cannot tolerate it anymore. I get tired easily and get migraine. I just hope that I finish my course in time so by then I could get myself a break; Rest and gain weight.

Greetings marniS - Welcome to mylot. I was a student for 17 years and my friends all wondered when I was going to get a "proper" job. It was disheartening seeing my friends leave school, get jobs and earn money, while I had nothing. I sincerely hope that you have better luck than I did. All my qualifications got me nowhere! I ended up in a job I hated which eventually led me to having a breakdown and having to leave. However, all this has been a blessing in disguise. It's been an adventure of sorts and has led me to the path which I am now following. I am working for myself. I don't earn much - but at least I am happy.
My advice to you is to take care of yourself - both physically and spiritually. A bit of meditation now and then would do you the world of good I feel. Carry a Fluorite crystal with you, it will help with your learning and most of all - don't forget to have some fun!

I feel your pain...some of us unfortunately or should that be fortunately *shrugs* spend our whole lives studying just to get a better education and paying job, some make it and some don't. And what's funny is that sometimes when you're finished, all you can recall from all thsoe years of endless studies has nothing to do with the job you finally settle into to and choose as your life career. hang in there...you'll meet the end of the road soon adn then you can sit back, relax and enjoy life

I will have to study for a long time too since I'm going for a PhD in psychology. I'm still unsure if I'll be happy with the job I end with or if I'll be happy with the money. I'm hoping that it will all be worth it. just hang on and keep your eye on the prize. Even if you don't get what you wanted in the first place, I'm sure the experience would still be worth everything.

When you are in school, time seems to move very slowly! It moves much faster after you graduate! Take care of yourself is a good idea! It will be worth it in the long run and you will be rewarded for all your hard work! Before long, you will be wondering where all the years went, how it could go by so fast! You will be looking forward to retirement and telling yourself you do not feel a year older than when you graduated!
