I have a facebook profile myself, but I really don't know what's the point of facebook. Isn't it just a big popularity contest to see which of your friends has more friend, who talk the most with whom, who uploads the best pictures, who's dating whom. I don't know, apart from it being a good way of catching up with friends or family that lives far away, I really don't see the point of it. And even for that purpose, you have their emails, so why don't you just write to them to their emails instead? What do you think' Is there really a good, logical, and important meaning behind facebook?

I have a profile at face book and like you I am not sure of the point of it. I was invited by a sister-in-law and most of the family is on there but I usually email that side of my family! I find facebook kinda hard to get around on. I also have a profile at My Space and Yuwie and I really like them both. It has been fun to decorate my profiles on both and Yuwie pays you to use the site! But, I cannot get the other family to move over to the other funner sites! LOL!

I like Facebook because it lets me keep in contact with my friends at all times! It can ve very addictive because I like to see what all of my friends are doing and I think that's what makes it so great and yet it's biggest downfall.

I'm pretty new to Facebook right now, but a lot of my family uses that site, so I set up a page. I know a lot of people who would rather sign up there than on a place like Mylot or Yuwie. I like to log in there to play with the applications I have and to see what my other friends and relatives are doing. I think it all depends on what you want to do there. You can restrict people from viewing your profile and sending you weird friends requests if you want.

Facebook is so many different things to different people. It's true that if you know your friend's email you can just send an email. Facebook and many other social networks allow your to make a large amount of information about yourself available to your friends, relatives, school alumni, business contacts, and total strangers readily available online all in your Facebook profile. Of course, you also have the option of keeping your information private, too.
