Can the Montreal Canadiens get free agent Marian Hossa to sign with them?

I was wondering, since the Habs had been so close to getting Hossa at the trade deadline, and with the July 1st UFA crop being so tiny, do you think the Habs have any chances of getting Hossa to join the club, or will we have to sign a Smolinsky type of player that will do nothing good in the long run?

WOW that situation went way different then the rumors saw it... who would have thought on day two he would sign with the wings none the less at a HUGE discount... shows anything really can happen in hockey.
pittburgh is now so worried about Malkin that I dont like seeing so many role players go.

Hossa didn't stay with the Wings too long, now he is a "Hawk".

Hey
word out of the burgh is they have Malkin on the block to make room to resign Hossa by that point. Hossa and Crosby had great chemistry and Hossa is a good PKer. Malkin had a great run this season but twice now has had an empty take in the playoffs. The latest is Kings for a second round pick, which i dont see the Kings doing for reason concerning Malkin. Honestly I dont think Montreal's needs are in the Scoring area but rather in the Goal. I am not as high on Price as locals are and think he got exposed this playoffs. He needs a good backup to relieve pressure and let him devolpe. If any thing I would add big body for in front of the net. They have a young team and certain pieces will help, though I dont think Hossa is one of those. He is talented, but plays simalar to several on the team.
