Do the males in your house cook?

As I get older I see that some guys actually do know how to do manly things and womanly things. My last boyfriend of 4 years never once cooked a meal. My present boyfriend that I have been with since March cooks all the time. It's wonderful to sit down at home and eat a meal that you didn't have to cook. Or clean up any of the dishes. Do your boyfriends cook? What do they make the best? Or what have they tried to cook? Anyone have any funny stories to share? I would love to hear them.

In chinese minds, kitchen is just women's workroom. In trational chinese families, women sweep all the housework, including cooking while men in charge of breadwinners and today remain the same.In chinese society, girls who can not cook are hard to married off.As for men, they only need taste the food made by their wifes.Certainly,if husband is good cooker,it is indeed a perfect family.

My husband cooks, cleans and does laundry. He also takes me out to dinner. He insists we take my mother out with us. What a guy! He is also an owner of a business so he works hard outside the house, too.

Hello there keelymcilwain, My husband cooks better than I do..LOL! So, he is the chef in the house..LOL, I will just wait and observe him, assist a little in anything he needs in the kitchen and do the dishes and cleaning after his turn. I eat a lot when he is the one cooking..I love it and he loves cooking too!

My fiancee is able to cook but he never does. There was this one time that he did, though. I was sleeping and he was very hungry. He made pancakes from scratch for himself. He told me when I got up and I was so surprised that I had to ask him several times to finally make myself believe that he had actually made himself food.

Oh yes and they are good cooks too! My husband started it all with his interest in pizza, even though he also likes to make salads and meat dishes. My son soon learned to make pizzas too, but he is also good at baking! My husband is also good at washing up, but not my son, who rather leave it to the ladies of the house!

My hubby loves to cook. When I moved over here in 2001 he told me that he wanted to cook on the weekends. This has worked out very well. He really is a good cook. We got a crockpot a few years ago and he just loves to experiment. He makes a really good sausage gumbo. He also washes the dishes every night and I do the drying up.

My husband is THEE cook in our house. I mean I cook because I have to, but I don't really enjoy cooking. I cook all week long for myself and the kiddies. My husband is an over the road truck driver and when he is home on the weekends, he is the one who does all the cooking and cleaning and he is so very good at it. He makes a killer potato soup and he makes me some fried potatoes and sausage on the weekends pretty often because he knows that is one of my favorites. I think that he does so much when he is home because he is gone all week and knows that I do a lot of work, with all of my jobs, three kids, all the kids activities and house work. He truely is a great man and very helpful! I am blessed and very lucky.

Almost all males in our family cooks. My Dad is a better cook than my stepmom. His cooking is superb and as a matter of fact, he taught my mom how to cook. And then my uncles (3 in all) are great cooks too. Just like my dad, their cooking is better than their wives. And now my husband is a great cook. Honestly speaking, I am not that great in cooking. I just love to prepare desserts. But my husband can really cook. He is the one who actually cooks for us. I am trying to learn from him. I do hope I can learn because I feel kinda embarrassed that he is cooks way better than me.

I am a single now. And the only male in my family is my dad. He does know how to cook and he actually can do quite well. But he seldom do that. My mom will always take care of the meal and my dad is too lazy to walk into the kitchen. He cooks when it's the new years holiday when some of our relative come to visit. Because then my mom still have to work and my dad is free at home. Besides, he gets a lot of praise on his dishes.

my husband does neither. although on the rare occasion that he does fix something he is really a better cook than me. i wish he would pitch in more around here but that is not ever going to happen. it has been like this for almost 18 years. he works and he basically thinks that is all he has to take care of. even when i worked full time he still did nothing around the house to help. he is great at making a mess though.

Back at home, my parents live on their own. My father seldom cook, only when my mother is tired or sick. My mother has always been the cook. My brother lives nearby my parent's house so sometimes he visits them, especially Sunday because there's no work. He's the who cooks a lot and he cooks very good. I guess I'm the only sibling that completely do not know how to cook at home hehehe.. All other siblings of mine are better cook, including the guys.

Hi, I am one among them who learn cooking at the age of 23-24 when i went out of my home town for job purposes. I wasn't sure how to cook meals on those days i was taking my meal outside, however when i was getting my salary i was noticed that i am spending a lot on my meals outside so why not to calculate if i will do it of my own and even i'll learn how to cook as well. I convinced myself and get all the utensils for cooking purpose. That was my first day of cooking when i tried to cook my favorite dish Potatoes with Onion, I think of myself that what to do first, how to start and from which to start. On the other hand i have to cook rice as well, however that was not so difficult as i was having slight idea about that. I bought a picture in my mind how my sister cooks what was she doing and how she started. Anyways at the end it took me around probably 1hr 30min to complete all, however it was not that tasty as it should be but was eatable for me. That was it!!! Bye.

I have a 3 year old son that loves to help mommy cook! But that is probably not what you were talking about :-) I got lucky with my husband of 5 years. He doesn't cook that often, but whenever I've had a long day at the office, he will usually volunteer to cook dinner for us. (even if it is hamburgers or something else on the grill) lol. The last time I was sick, he made home made chicken noodle soup for me! I thought that was so sweet! He's not a great cook, but he tries and that is all I can ask for.

Oh Yes, the men in my house cook. My husband cooks a fantastic steak and my sons can prepare just about anything you'd like to see on a dinner table. They do dishes too but we rotate. If the guys cook, the girls clean the kitchen and the men do dishes when the girls cook.

My guy is an excellent cook! One of our first hanging out sessions included going grocery shopping and him preparing one of his specialties for me (green curry). When he was working from home, we each cooked about half and half. Now that he's working away from home, I do most of the cooking, but he still pitches in and does all of the grilling. I wouldn't mind having to cook if I didn't have to clean up, so it's great when I go on a cooking spree because he does the cleaning! He also makes a terrific loaf of bread and awesome pasta. I think cooking is a very important thing to learn, regardless of what your gender is. My little brother has been suffering since he moved out because he doesn't get as much 'real' food as he did when he was living at home. I love a man who likes to cook!

My husband cooks and so do both my sons. When we first got married I cooked all the time, then we had kids my husband worked and I was a house wife. Well our kids are grown the youngest being 20. I don't really do much cooking or housekeeping my husband does it all now. He enjoys cooking and not working now, so he does it all. He is a very good cook and excellent bbq'er.
