We were on a break!

I've watched almost all of the Friends episodes and I've hear repeatedly the "we were on a break" argument between Rachel and Ross, but I never actually saw what Ross did to Rachel while they where supposedly on a break. Does anyone know how this came to be? What happened?

I'm not sure how much of the detail you don't know so I'll try to summarize the whole thing.
She got that job where she was working with Mark and Ross was all jealous. So in one episode he had kind of went overboard on the jealousy thing and she declared maybe they needed a break. So he left all hurt. He went to a club with Chandler and Joey. The girl they thought was hot from the copy store was there. She had a thing for Ross and came on to him. He ended up taking her home with him and sleeping with her. This all happened in like a 12-hour time period. The very next morning Rachel called and wanted to make up.
He justified his sleeping with somebody else by declaring "we were on a break!"

In fact, Rachel shows up at his place and the girl's still there! I think he hides her somewhere, but I don't remember it well.
What makes this episode funny is the fact that you don't see Ross as man who's waiting to break up to go after girls to get laid.
In fact, now I think about it, you don't see Ross as the divorcing - remarring type either!

Ha ha ha! You are right. I started to go into that, but I got tired of typing. LOL
Anyway, when Ross got the message on the answering machine that morning, Rachel had said she planned on stopping by on her way to work the next morning. So Russ hurried to rush the girl out of there, but when he opened the door so she could leave, Rachel was standing there getting ready to knock. Ross pushed the girl behind the door and hugged Rachel. So the girl was hiding behind the open door the whole time Ross and Rachel were hugging and making up. A fact that Rachel realized later when she found out about the incident.
