I've been doing some mini research on the Gullah/Geechee people. My mom is sometimes asked by people is she a Geechee. Well, I have reason to believe that we may have ancestors of the Gullah/Geechee people. They originated from the low country of South Carolina and Georgia. My mother's grandmother, who turned 98 last month, and her family came from the low country in Georgia. I think it's neat to find out things about yourself that you would never even think of. So what if the Gullahs and Geechees resulted from slavery? They have a rich culture, and I think they're interesting. I think mostly everybody is interesting. I love looking up info on different people and cultural backgrounds. What are some of your cultural and nationality backgrounds? What do you like best about your culture or background? Or have you ever heard of the Gullah/Geechee people, and, if so, what do you know about them?

I just know about Gullah/Geechee from you.Thanks! Gullah,Geechee,Georgia.hehehe!The G rhymess..Your still have a mother with grandmother,thats cool man!98 is such an old age..lucky she still survive.Not a lot of humans are able to reach that age.
I am a Malay.My culture background is origated from Malaysia.A South East Asia country ..from the name of the country,there is the word "Malay" there!Its a culture full of traditional well mannered custom.We have a rich tradition on being
respectful,courteous,polite for others.Its different from other culture,we have our own traditional way in customary etiquette.Im a slight Javanese too where its originated from Indonesia.

What are Gullas and Geechees? I have never heard of these people. I may be a mixture of both though, my mom's side of the family is originally from Locust Grove, Georgia.
