What natural colour hair did you have as a child, then as you grew up?

When I was born and up until the age of about 4 I had pure white hair, when I look at photos I loved the colour of my hair, it was so nice and so natural. As I grew past 4 it started to darken and by the time I was 8 or 10 it had turned strawberry blonde which I cannot remember but I saw a photo yesterday. It was funny because my youngest son has the same colour hair now at 6 as I did at 8 or 10 so now I know where the colour comes from!
By the time I reached my teen years my hair was brown with streaks of strawberry blonde, mahogany and other reds in it. My Mum said it was beautiful and that everyone would comment on how gorgeous it was, at 19 I began to dye it and have never had my natural colour since!
What about you, what natural hair colour were you when little?
What natural colour did you end up being as a teen/adult?

LOL I was bald as a coot until I was about four and then I suddenly had this jet black head of hair that I managed to keep in pristene condition until I was about 17 then a grey hair appeared LOL not so obvious in blondes is it? and I have been dying ever since, but these days it is brown as black looks so harsh. Ellie :D

That is why I may just keep highlighting, it will prevent any notice of grays if they creep in. I'm not always on top of maintaining the highlights, ie I don't go every 5 or 6 weeks to have them redone. I do not want to deal with gray hair. I'm still getting carded, that just doesn't fit!

I had a full head of black hair when I was born, but that didn't last long. I was blonde growing up, then when I turned eleven or so it gradually started getting darker and now it's brown. When the light hits it you can see blonde and reddy bits in there; my grandmother's Irish lol.
Here is a picture of me as a child, and one of me from last year to show the difference:

Mine was what they call a dirty blonde but as I got older, it's gotten a wee bit darker as the years go by. I have to lighten it though due to having lupus, I'm alergic to the sun, the lighter my hair is the less the sun is attracted to my face.

It's very similar to AIDS except that it's not contagious. Here's a link explaining all about it.

You have got to be kidding, you had that gorgeous color and then dyed it.. My hair is growing in all white, almost a pure white, and I am not ready for it, but I have been trying so hard to get the exact color that you have just described as your natural hair color.. what is wrong with us?? I would kill for a mahogany color with streaks of dark red in it.. I always just put a dark brown on the roots becasue my hair is naturally a dark brown.. The color that you just described is the color that my young niece pays a fortune for having done to her hair..

I know please do not tell me off, I know that I ruined my hair as soon as I was able too, but mainly it was just defiance. I was doing it for reasons that only I could understand at that time.
Now, I too wonder what the heck I was doing!

I had blonde hair until I was about 5 years old. Then, it started to turn brown and now it is a very dark brown. My hair in my personal picture is my natural color...one of the few times people have seen it! My son, I think, is going to be the same way with his hair. My husband also had blonde hair as a toddler and now he has very dark brown hair. My son was born with blonde hair also and I think he will end up having dark brown hair as well.

Wow,what a cool colours of hair you have got with cool names like strawberry blonde. The name itself is georgous. As an Asian,I have a black hair since i was born..until a few years back,i dyed my hair with reddish brown henna but my natural black hair is so strong that it does not change its colour. The colour could be seen literally but only appear when the light or sun shone through my hair.Nice yet amazing!

LOL! My older daughter who is also blonde dyed her hair black repeatedly. I'm not talking dark brown but jet black. I used to laugh at her because she still had blonde eyebrows, but I had to stop laughing because she used hair dye on them.

Good Morning! When I was a child my hair was brown. As I grew older it got darker and was black. It stayed black until I turned 22 and that was when I started getting gray hair mixed in. By the time I reached 40 I had more of a salt and pepper look with more salt than pepper LOL. So about three or four years ago I got tired of that look and colored my hair blonde. I have been blonde ever since. :)

I think that the darker the natural hair colour the earlier the grey creeps in! I dread to think how much grey is in my natural colour!

I was born with jet black hair and had that for awhile, but then it turned into a lighter brownish red color and that color remained that way until about maybe ten years ago when I started to dye it..some "inspiration" made me go blonde..urgh! I looked hideous...blonde just didn't go well with my complexion and made me very washed out looking...so within a week, I dyed it a dark brown ....yeesh with all those chemicals it's a wonder my hair didn't fall out. On occasion I've even dyed it black...sort of going back to my roots..no pun intended there. On occasion I still dye it a very dark, deep rich brown though

I am bleached blonde and I think it makes me look older, hence I am trying to slowly take it darker until I get the colour I want!

My hair was very dark as a child, with red/mahogany lowlights in it. It didn't really change much from childhood all the way through teenhood, except for the fact that I colored it a couple times. My hair is now highlighted, I use blonde and right now it is very blonde.
My daughter was born with very very dark hair and lots of it. When she was around 6 months old, it started to thin and fall out, only to be replaced by the blonde hair you see in my avatar. My husband is blond and her hair is precisely the same color as his! Not what I would have expected. If I stopped highlighting my hair, I would be the only non-blond in the house, and I kind of like having the same general color hair.

If your hair has not changed since birth then it is unlikely to do so.

I had lovely brown hair as a baby and as a child. By the time I was 19 I had started to turn gray, although only in the front. The older I got, the grayer I became. Now, at 57, I barely have any brown left at all.
But, I am lucky. My oldest brother had his hair turn from a brownish-blond to completely gray by the age of eleven! Poor guy!

I hear about a lot of young people turning grey these days you know, so it is not surprising what you say.
What is surprising is to hear about your brother! That is young to be going grey!

I Also had very white hair as a infant. My hair turned dirty blonde around age of 6. It remains a dirty/ash blonde. Although when I had longer hair it had more sun exposure and so was very light.
I've been dying my hair for 10 years now. Its been every colour in the rainbow... and even rainbow coloured.

It's funny how most people start off with really light hair then get darker as they get older. Pure white hair would have been awesome, I always liked blonde hair.
When I was a child I had curly brown hair, then when I grew up it became a dark brown colour. I first started to dye my hair when i was 14 I put light brown streaks in it. Then when I was 23 years old I had my hair bleached blonde, I needed to see if blondes had more fun, lol. I stayed blonde till I was 29 years old, changed it around August last year. Now my hair is dark again but with some caramal foils in it. I am trying to go lighter again, not blonde but same colour as Jennifer Lopez, I like her hair colour, light brown with caramal and blonde highlights.
BTW I tried responding to one of your discussions last night about who do you look like, I tried it twice and twice it did not post, so frustrating. Might try again later.

brown ay birth.. which turned flaming red shortly after.. then went platinum until i was about age 5ish and went back to a reddish brown.. i started dying my hair when i was about 16ish and didnt stop changing colors until i was about 25.. and i let it grow out to its natural color.. which is as it remains now.. dark auburn which lightens in the sun to a brighter red. ..;nods;..

I wonder if I will ever see my natural colour again, it would be interesting to see what it was like now. It would take me years though now to grow it all out!
