Windows XP Vs Vista Vs Unix

What is a better OS (Opperating System) Windows Xp, Windows Vista or Unix. To me an OS has to have 2 main things if im going to use it first it must have many coustomizable features on it (ex. tool bars, desktop). The second thing it must have is the compatability for all my programs.
Give me some comments about what you want in an OS and how it will make your life easier

i suggest what i use and that will be windows xp, he is far better then vista, as you allready say its slowing your pc, but there are problems when using it with desktop computer in reading some hardware i know i try it
about unix i cannot say anything becouse i never see it and never use it

I have not used Unix but I've used both XP and Vista ( I currently have Vista). I have heard so many complaints about Vista and I am starting to agree. For some reason my computer has been slow from day 1 (it's less than a year old laptop) and I think it has to do with the Vista software. I acquired a copy of Windows Office 2000 and installed that and it has helped the speed but for some reason my computer is just soo slow. I have heard similiar complaints from other Vista users. Perhaps it is not the vista at all and it's me and my small knowledge of how these darn systems work.
