Did you ever Forget you Responded to a Discussion and respond Again?

Wow, I never thought of this before, but I just clicked on a discussion that sounded like something I wanted to comment on. I never saw the person's avatar before but what she wrote sounded so familiar that I was sure I commented on it already before. She must have just changed her avatar.
But I was kinda expecting the 'respond to this discussion' button to not work if I already commented on it.
Or does it allow you to comment again if you find a discussion a few months down the road and you forgot you commented on it already?
I would feel really goofy if I went and made a comment that sounded just like the one I wrote 2 months ago!

I have, only the day before yesterday I responded to a discussion twice and that too similarly.
Actually when I was about to post my first response I received a call, after I was done with the call I forgot weather I had posted the response or not so I posted it again.

I am glad you made this discussion, I was thinking the same thing just now, infact i've been thinking it for a few days. I always check to see if I have responded to it before responding again, unless the person's discussion is long.... I usually don't bother if it is long. I don't think that the button is "deactivated" after you respond.

Lol, I think the button should be 'deactivated' after you respond. I didn't notice this problem until recently, now that I've been around here for a couple months I guess I've commented pretty much and that's why it's happening.
I'm looking at all you people who have over 1000 comments and thinking it must really be hard to remember what you've already commented on.

I've actually responded to discussions that I already have on several occasions. I feel pretty stupid for doing it too. You can reply, it won't stop you from doing so except you will not get any post credits for replying to the same discussion. Which means I doubt you'll get paid anymore either.

Well, that stinks! I actually just almost did it again.
I must be desperate looking for discussions or something. I keep finding the same old ones over again. Lol.
Now I'm afraid to comment because I've commented on so many...lots of them when I'm half asleep at night, and I'm not sure which ones I did or didn't!
And I'm only in the 400's. You must run into that alot being in the 5000's!!
I feel like I'm going crazy. Maybe I should go to bed early tonight instead of mylotting! Lol.

lol that's my problem. I do a lot of searching to find discussions to reply to and I find them so I reply and found out I've already replied so then I feel stupid for replying.

It happened to me so many times, and i just go through how many responses are there and chk out if i did respond. If i did,i leave it, but i always chk, if the discussion has like many responsesand i think i might have responded, i just stay away and dont respond to it at all...

momalisa yep I got caught once doing thisand noticed at
once that mysecond response had the same number as beforeI made this response so they just do not record this second
response of yours. I felt disappointed in myself as I had
wasted a point in a repeat response evern tho the discussion
was really interesting. lol.

Oh yea, that would be a good way to know, if your number stays the same. But of course then it's already too late! Lol!

Wow. What a clever question. Kind of Deja vu. I think this has happened to me a few times before. (Yuk, Yuk) :)

Yes, it happens to me one time. It usually happen to a discussion with many responses. It is hard to find my own response in that kind of discussion. Avatar is also not very helpful because people change it and some of them change it frequently. I think mylot will not punish this because it is just an accident. And, I agree with you, Mylot should make the response button inactive if we already response to the discussion.

I'm new here, less than a month I guess and I'm pretty sure I haven't responded to any discussion here for two times. I remember all the discussion I already responded. I guess if you're regular here, you would really know right? hehehe..

I think I may have before, but can't be too sure . Just thinking about it now makes me feel silly , but I am sure most people don't mind . it just happens , just so if you did it again it isnt so different , get the person thinking , what the heack flip flop !!

As I understand it,you can always add to a response you have made no longer how long ago it was. What is possible though is that you did respond to a discussion by the person under a different name but they started a new account (for what ever reason) and placed some of their previous discussions onto it.Please do not worry though if you have replied before as they may get more out of reading it a second time as well.

I did this recently. I was looking through the discussions and found one that I was interested in. So I just begin typing and whatever. Then I happen to scroll up and read other responses and I saw..well, me, lol. I assumed that the 'post response' button wouldn't work and say something like 'you've already added to this discussion' or something. It happens, lol.
