This should keep me awake in front of the television forever......or will it?

As some may know after a discussion I did recently about falling asleep in front of the television, I just may NEVER do it again! Here I was last night watching a show and it had almost finished and was proud of myself for staying awake, hubby came in from computor and threw a few more logs on the fire......BIG MISTAKE! I was then out to it big time and somehow woke with the remote in my hand and must have switched channels and to my shock horror here was a man in a gown and their was an audience and he was actualy performing medical procedures on an elderly female cadaver. I thought it was some kind of movie but it is for real and he cut this lady up and showed her reasoning for dying. She had a fall and had broken bones and had bled internally and all this was pointed out! This may hopefully stop me from falling asleep in the chair EVER again as I was very shocked to wake up to this! Too much information, too late at night! That will teach me to "drop" off!

Oh dear - I can see you thinking it was all a dream honey! Bad Hubby making you drop off just as you had almost seen a full show! lol I think I know the programme you mean although I never really watch it myself and I think that might just do the trick, cos if that doesn't nothing will! xxx

A dream....or a bad nightmare mummymo! It may have done the trick though! I guess I can blame hubby for throwing those logs on the fire, I was doing so well!

I always fall asleep in front of the tv, but that has never happened to me! I would have flipped out if I woke up to something like that! lol. What channel was that on??? That is really sick, I don't know who would want to watch something like that (whether in the audience or on tv).

Not the best thing to wake up to Lily so am hoping it will have some affect and I will stay awake and use the bed for sleeping. It was SBS and even with my nursing background it did freak me out a little!

lol yeah, it'd freak me out too. If that was on as I was waking up, it would probably take me a few seconds to realize what was going on...and then when it all became clear, I would probably freak out a little! lol.

Might have been a good thing though Lily as not wanting to wake up like that again should do the trick. One can only wish! lol

Just don't turn the channel in your sleep anymore. That would be shocking to wake up to. I have fallen asleep with the television on and made dreams out of what I was hearing. I have been on game shows!

It was quite shocking as what I had been watching previously before dozing off, was much nicer! Hope you were a big success on the game shows!

that channel has a lot of medical procedures and is slanted
'nmore for doctors and nurses and medical personnel that
like to keep up on new things in the medical field, not
for the runof the mill viewer so no wonder it shocked you.
lol. it is really arather educational channel for anyone
interested in medical advances.

No doubt some get something out of the show but not something I would want to watch again! Mind you......it did take me awhile to turn it off as I was getting "involved" but then reality hit and decided it was not for me!

I think i'd run screaming for my fiance if I awoke and saw something of that sort. I like to doze off in front of the t.v. sometimes, but only if I am really sleepy. There have been times when I was younger and I would go to sleep watching baseball and wake up and there'd be something else.
I've also fallen asleep during a scary movie.

It was a little weird, as the show I was watching was a pleasant one and missed the end of course! (The story of my life lately!)

Have been thinking about trying something to help me sleep better (in the bed not in the chair! LOL) But something with a non-drowsy affect in the morning! Looks like this might be the way to go.

So it went from pleasant to just disturbing. It's weird how they seem to do that. show something nice, then something just disgusting. Have you tried taking something to help you sleep better at night?

I have done this many a time.. I have a bad habit of putting a cover over the sofa and folding it up over the top of the sofa, so that IF I SHOULD fall asleep, which I know that I will, then if I get cold, I can just pull the cover over me and when I wake in the morning, there is no telling what channel the TV will be on by then.. It is usually a channel that is too loud, mush louder than the one that I dozed off to.. I can sleep anywhere, anytime, and I usually do.. Have a great evening..

You are at least preparing yourself for what may happen Donna that is a wise choice. I don't even get that far and usually wake up with a stiff neck because the effort of still holding the head up must be still there! lol
