To tell the truth,I don't think honesty is alaways effective nowadays. As in your career,if you too honesty, the result may be that someone will conseal your secrets or explosite your honesty to deafeat you.Even some directors now indicate that the graduate students should to some exent be dishonesty in job hunting.Because when too many people are cheating,if you are too honesty, that means you are destined to be cheated and lose some competition. However, honesty is an encouraging merit, but unfortunately ,it's really hard to achieve it all times.

Well though honesty in many cases is the best option when we have no option left.Suppose in a critical matter we continue providing wrong data to someone, we can't continue that way for whole life. After all nobody is so damn fool that he/she will keep on getting trapped to your tricks & you'll sit -n- enjoy. In your job too your employer expects you to be fairly honest. But that doesn't mean that you be Mahatma Gandhi.
Try to define your limits & act according to the circumstances prevailing.
So,what I mean to say is honesty in some significant aspects of our life definitely works long - term & enables building up of social admiration, status & thorough professionalism.
But there are cases in which you have to keep it short with a harmless lies.Never mind using them as far as they are harmless.
After all our conscience paves the way to be or not be honest according to the situation.
