Limewire have gone legal, you can still download for free but if you pay a few pennies you can download the tracks legally and at much better quality.

Look, I hate to to be the wet blanket but downloading these copyrighted materials is illegal. Most people think that you just get sued for doing it. In the US you get criminally prosecuted. Yeah, thats right criminally. You can get anything from a fine to prison time. You are also garanteed to have your computer seized. Aside from that it is loaded with viruses. Its really easy to get caught as all the cops have to do is log in, start a download and then capture your ip address. Once the have that they just drop a subpoena on the ISP and your name pops up. Then they have probable cause for a search warrant. Then the nice men come to your house, sometimes they knock sometimes they kick your door in. Then they search your computer, cds, USb devices. Once they find any illegally obtained material they seize your computer and tote you away in handcuffs. Not a pretty sight. Read the news. It has been happening with greater frequency. You are not annonymous. Don't be fooled into thinking you are. If you plan to continue to steal you should be prepared for the consequences. I have seen it happen. I hope you will hear my warning and heed it.

Hello Mythel,
A friend of mine introduced me to limewire about a year ago and I been using it to download music, movies and software. I think most of the thing you download on limewire are not legal. They are peer to peer sharing, and as with all file-sharing programs, using LimeWire to download or upload copyrighted files without permission from the authors is generally illegal. Using it to distribute files with permission from the authors, or files that are out of copyright, is generally legal. I think that is only the disadvantage of using limewire, you don't know if the file you are downloading are legal or illegal. Limewire is also doing great business so I guess it's ok to use.
I recently shifted to Frostwire, because I have hard time getting some Limewire Pro upgrade. Frostwire is like Limewire but it's free and it's easier to get upgrade. I still have a copy of Limewire Pro but it's getting old.

I used to use Limewire to download songs but that was so long ago and I've switched to Frostwire. It's like Limewire but it's turbo charged connection and then recently I got quite fond of downloading torrents/movies. It's faster to download movies in Frostwire (but searched in mininova and isohunt). It only takes less than 24 hours and 1 song for about a minute. Unfortunately though, it started freezing on my Mac so I uninstalled it and installed a couple of times but it still freezes so I totally deleted it. I am now using Transmission for my torrent. I still don't know what download manager to use that supports Mac OS X aside from Frostwire and Limewire.

I've also used Limewire for a couple of years. I've used it mainly for the kids to listen to music as they tire of songs quickly. I have a DSL line so it loads pretty quickly and I haven't had any issues from it. Its quick, easy and best of all free.

I am a limewire user too. Yes, it's true that is much faster to download there and it's really unlimited. I enjoy using limewire. I have downloaded many songs from there too of different genres.

Limewire is Good in peer 2 peer sharing. But It always gives explicit materials in searches.
For example, Type any keyword and start search. You'll surely get a video or Image on that Keyword which may result in mature material or some malicious threat.

Hi,
I used to use limewire but i don't find it as good as it used to be.there are many more viruses and also sometimes i was nearly finished downloading a file and it would drop off and not connect again so i hard to start all over again.I use Ares now and have had no problems at all.Of course with a free program, there are still viruses but they are easier to find using this program and my antivirus program detects a problem quicker than it did with limewire.

I just don't know why Limewire does not serve well the purpose to me than to others. I simply could not get good downloads of my choice of songs at Limewire, always busy host and other hindrance. So I gave up!

No, I used to use Limewire but it is very easy for someone to get access to your computer with it. I've lost my internet service twice because someone hacked our network through my brother's Limewire and began spamming people using our email address.
Be careful!
