It was a loud bang....then I felt my face touch steel and my right arm pressed the side of my seat......and then I felt my body being pushed to the person who was sitting 3 spaces away from me. It didn't happen in slow motion the way it does on tv. There was no moment to see your life flash by.......
By my calculations, he was about 60 or older, he was seriously intoxicated he couldn't even walk straight. Or maybe he was so shaken by hitting a car just minutes before, and then hitting us again trying to run away from it. Maybe he was scared that the mob would gang up and beat him, right then and there, where the body of a teenager lay on the asphalt almost lifeless, having been squished between the jeepney's running board (estribo) and the lite ace that he was driving. A boy who didn't have enough money to pay for a decent seat inside the jeepney, who chose to brave the dangers of hanging outside instead, hoping he'd reach his destination without incident. But he was wrong.
The Lite Ace had serious damage, the front dented about a feet, feet and a half, window broken. Imagine having a real person cushioning that impact.
My face was throbbing more but basing from the "non-reaction" I got from the people around, I guessed I wasn't black and blue, and without any obvious swelling. I tried moving my wrist, my arm, my shoulder until I was sure there wasn't anything broken. But i still got myself a medico-legal certificate in case I start seizing or blacking out several days after. By the time I got home, I had a hard time chewing food....which I needed before I could take the Celebrex the Doctor prescribed. by then too, the whole right side of my body was aching.
This morning I woke up with my right side still hurting, like I played tennis or badminton after being away from it for a long time and didn't even think to warm up. I would've said like being beaten by a thousand mob but I can only imagine how that feels. But you get the picture. My face looked like I put too much blush on one side, and it being tighter than the other. My upper arm had a little bruise and just a little swollen it's barely noticeable. But it still hurt so bad. I thought about the boy.....

I am so sorry. How awful and scary. My sister went for a walk when she was 9. A 17 year old hit her head on.He was drunk too. She has life long medical problems. She had a broken arm a concussion damage to her bladder.I hope you healed quickly, and can move on.

Oh, that's awful. I hope that 17 year old learned his lesson!
Thanks.....I'm not hurting as much anymore, but my bruise is still a constant reminder of what happened, already a week since! The swelling on my face, fortunately, is noticeable only upon careful inspection.
here's how it looks today...
