Is the world facing a crisis in availability of crude oil?

Rising crude oil cost is adding more dilemma to the economies which are already in red. Is the problem more political than geographical?
I believe that this more of a political issue than the availability of oil. As per the projected the stats, current reserves can serve the world for another 41 years. I think it has something to do with the current contention between the west and gulf. What do you say?
