how many episodes do you think are actually based on her life?? i know she is a real person but some of the episodes are so far out that i have a hard time believing them.. and if they are fake i think that if i were her i would have a problem being so public about it being about her life to just make her life seem insanely freakish.. i believe in the paranormal and psychics etc but if some are made up i would think she would feel a little foolish.. or at least not be like all bragging its about her.. i dunno.. maybe they are real.. i doubt it.. its tv after all..

I would say that 90% of the time even when things are based on true stories that once Hollywood gets a hold of it it changes. Gotta make money and grasp the audiences attention so it is totally understandable. I love the show regardless but I never actually knew it was inspired or based on an actual person, should have figured it for lifetime though. I had always wondered just never actually saw or heard that until now. But even though I doubt it all really happened it wouldn't surprise me if it did either. Fake physics have given the real ones a bad name but I truly believe there are people out there that can do these things, and even though I haven't seen any where near all the episodes so far just about everything I have seen I think is possible to have happened. Especially since most of the times it is in her dream the dream world is so strange who knows who or what we could connect to if we tried or had the ability.

Very true, true life is where all ideas come from even when we twist them.

I think they take a real life situation then make it fantastical to make the story more interesting to the viewers. Most TV shows never let the truth get in the way of a good story, we just need to remember that 90% of it is fiction.

I believe the series billed itself as "inspired by..." the real person, as opposed to "based on" actual events. "Inspired by" usually means that they just took the basic idea, a psychic working for the DA, but pretty made up everything else, like the supporting characters and the cases. I'm sure a few of the stories are based loosely on real cases, but not necessarly ones that the real person worked, or ones that even had any paranormal stuff linked to them.

You should read the book. I believe they take a "true" event then do what ever they want to it to make it into a tv show. So the end result is fictitious. Money will make people do stuff you might not find logical.

i would think it would be kind of embarrassing to see the wild episodes to where it makes her look more odd than she may be.. then again she may be that odd.. not that there is anything wrong with that.. i like odd lol
