dogs vs cats

many of us have pets, most of us have dog and many of us hav cats. which is a better pet? why do you feel so? can cats overtake dog's position as dearest pet?

They each have their own merits. I think a cat is a better pet for an apartment or living situation where there are alot of people around. A dog is better if you are in a rural area or have room. That is my personal opinion. I have both though, I am very fond of both species.

Dogs! Dogs are actually loyal, whereas a cat will just as soon scratch you as it will purr. And why do people name their cats? What's the point of naming something that doesn't respond when you call it?(just kidding) :)

For me...dogs is a better pet but that's because I am allergic to cats. I have 3 dogs which I think is alittle too much for me to handle since I have a 1 month baby boy. I think it would be alot better if I was in a nice size house...right now we are all cramp in this small place.
