Are you a bed hog or do you hug the edge of the bed?

I don't think I used to be a bed hog. But then again, it has been my experience that most bed hogs do not know they are hogs until that person has a sleeping partner.
Then in the 18 years that I have had a partner to sleep with, I have turned into a person that balances on the edge of the bed.
I should have become a gymnast or a circus tight rope walker because I can balance on the edge of the bed in my sleep so well that I wake up with the bed edge impression on my arms and legs.
And tried as I might, I have told my partner that he is a bed hog but he has denied it with a laugh. I have woken him in the middle of the night when he is nearly suffocating me because he can't give me any bed room to ask him to move over. That doesn't help because he will only move his butt over an inch or so. And after asking him a few more times and a few grunts from him, his body is now in the shape of a parenthesis! Like that gives me any real bed room.
So, anyone a bed hog or edge hugger? Or have you overcome this issue? If so, how?

BROKENTIA!!! WHERE'VE YOU BEEN???
To answer your question....as much as I COULD hog the bed or rather sprawl all over it since I dont share my bed, I actually tend to NOT move at all during the night...The way i fall asleep is the same way i wake up the next morning

Hey there sweets!
I've been really busy working. But recently quit my job because my daughter had to have back surgery. So now I am home taking care of her during recovery. I have tried to come back here and think of you all often...but try as I might, I do not get to sit down much.
Its great to see my friends have not forgotten me!!!!
I know what you mean about waking in the same way the next morning. When my partner is gone on business trips and such, I love the fact that I get the whole bed. But then I end up in the middle somehow surrounded with pillows and blankets and wake the next morning from not moving. ha ha

My hubby and i are both pretty well people who stay on our own side but as close to the center as possible, but though the sleeping part isn't an issue, i'm a blanket hog, and i've heard so many many times, so my hubby has now learned to wrap himself in blankets, so that he's laying on them, so i can no longer steal all of them haha.

ha ha I have to do the same things sometimes in the winter because my partner likes to hog the covers at times too. :)

She is doing much better now. Thank you sweetie.
Of course, she has her rough days too. But it seems like there are better ones more than rough ones.
Life is just so busy and the kids are getting older and needing more. Grrrr LOL

Hello Tia! Long time no see! My hubby is a bed hog too. I get 1/4 of the bed while he hogs the remaining 3/4's of it! I am constantly pushing him to get him to move over so I can at least get enough of the mattress to lay on. Forget about getting up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. When I come back he is laying across the bed and has my pillow too!

LOL---I have two bed hogs I sleep with...my two cats! I only have a dinky twin sized bed to begin with, so not much room to begin with...As soon as my two kitties know their mom is going to tuck herself into bed, they both come in and claim their spots.....Kissy likes to sleep at the end of my bed..so heaven forbid I move my feet, while Pyewacket likes to take up most of the space alongside me and heaven forbid I move him over to give me more space.... When I used to have more cats, and consequently more cats on my bed, I was actually expecting to fall off my bed at any moment

Great to see you too sweetie.
And I should be grateful that I don't have anymore dogs either...or I would probably have to get another bed! ha ha

Its a very practical topic to say sth, even i feel that I require very less bed space.Actually I got this habit right from my school days when I use to get slept while reading. The thing is half of my bed is occupied by my books and me took only rest half and this habit of mine continued and even at this point of time when I don't need any book ,I use to sleep on only half of my bed.Unluckly I have found any bed partner till date, let me seee how her appearance affect my this habit.

ha ha Yes, I am sure that her appearance would probably be a factor in bed habits.
And I am sure if I had the luxury to have my books on my bed, I would probably make room for them also. ha ha :)

My honey is the bed hog. Well not as much anymore now that I'm pregnant. He sticks to his side now to give me room. I a cover hog though. It's gotten to the point that we don't even start out with the same blankets anymore. We have our own covers to not have any middle of the night chills...on his end :)

Heya...I have been there too! ha ha But the separate covers thing just seemed to have happened on their own...that is...I took the sheet while he took the blanket on top of the sheet. LOL
I think that is a pregnancy thing too.

I can see myself building a bed that's big enough for four... I roll around a lot when I sleep by myself, and when it's hot I'm going for the coolest spot on the bed, no matter who's sleeping with me! :)

If you roll around trying to stay in the coolest spot...I would think that you are a bed roamer instead of a hogger. ha ha Even though the two are close in occupying more bed room...a roamer doesn't lay still.

I'm a bit of a bed hog. I have tried to adapt but on occasion I still put my hubby out. But that's because I share a full sized bed with not only him but his body pillow as well LOL.
For me it's not so much hogging the bed as wanting to be close to him. I have to be touching him in some way or I can't sleep LOL. I slept in a twin sized bed except for the last year of my life with my parents. So really I'm used the amount of space.
He hogs his fair share too sometimes. So I guess it goes both ways with us :)
I'm more of a blanket hog. There was several years where we used different blankets 'cause I couldn't adapt. Finally I have though I still do steal them all on occasion.

Haha totaly not a bed hogger or a edge hugger. more like a wall hugger. I have got to have my bed aginst a wall and i like to sleep close and facing the wall. its hard for me to sleep any other way. but my daughters father was kinda like that. he would always like scoot close to me facing me in the middle of the night. when theres so much room on the other side of him. i always waited till he fell asleep and went to the couch... and of course. slept facing the back of the couch:P. its just a habbit. i dont know why

I am kind of a bed hog. My husband can be too, but he would never admit it. When he sleeps, he always sticks his butt out into my side of the bed, so I end pushing him trying to make him straighten out. I like to sleep on my stomach and I pretty much stay in the same spot all night. However, if my husband isn't in bed with me when I fall asleep, I end up taking up the whole bed.

I'm definitely a bed hog on my own. Like, I've been told I sleep like a star because all of my limbs are stretched. When I sleep with someone else, I just try to stay to my confined side and it's worked lol

I am far from a bed hog. There are some nights our daughter sleeps with us. Those nights she sleeps in the middle while I sleep on the edge of the bed so that hubby has plenty of room. He's the type that doesn't like to be touched while he's sleeping. So when our daughter sleeps with us it never fails I wake up to him complaining about her kicking him or touching him.
