I have a very hectic life and work a full time job. But am looking for something online to make a bit of extra money. Has anyone found a company that is not a pyramid and that is really legit?
I am not a computer Guru. But am trying to learn more about website building etc.
Does anyone have an opinion on starting a website on lets say ning? Then transferring it later if it does well?
Would love any advice, opinions, good information sites, etc.

Your best bet is to build your own online business and not rely on some other so-called company that claims they will make you rich. There are many ways you can build your own business online and make money from it.
I know as I have been doing it for over 15 years myself as I build high quality and advanced php websites. Just getting a website put up will not make you money though, it takes time, effort, and money to make real money online.
You must have a plan and follow that plan just like a real business in the real world (offline).
