I was browsing a while ago and I stumbled across a discussion Saying the poster knew the money making secret of mylot. This poster started the discussion and as far as I can see didn't post much more than what every one should already know - Participate in the discussions. BUT they have 10 or so pages of responses of people asking for the secret and haven't seem to have gone back to the discussion after starting it. Why is everyone so attracted to the "Secret"

I saw this post yesterday also in the "Make Extra Money" section. They never did reply to everyone inquiring their "secret", but I did notice that when I received my newsletter this morning that they were the most popular post from yesterday. If you want to offer some tips up, actually give them instead of leaving everyone hanging.

I agree! It just flabbergasted me at how many people responded asking for the secret. (I'm surprised too that flabbergasted isn't showing up as a spelling error!)

Maybe that post WAS the secret - it got pages of responses, hit the top discussion list, counted as a started discussion - that person just made big coin on MyLot with that simplistic, yet obvious, discussion. He doesn't have to answer (in theory) if his point was already made. Post a discussion with high appeal and wait for the responses to roll in and the popularity to propel it to the top. Ingenious - and he didn't post any links, either. Of course, if everyone starts doing that, it will come to a quick end, but hey - he got what he wanted!! LOL

Hey I know that discussion it was posted by user "makemoneyHear" and I responded to it but I can't find it among discussions I responded to where the H did it go ? I wonder it was reported because the poster did not do what he promised to do ??

hello saundyl, i was browsing my daily digest here and saw that one and was intrigued coz i know in the past a lot of member here claimed that they do know the "secret" and is willing to give it to you for free (duh!) in this case i check the whole page and didnt see a single response (i hope i am correct LOL) from the OP and the discussion just goes on and on and on, i thought it was against the mylot rules but i guess their radar is not yet on this one, i know the other day i check one on my daily digest and it is no longer there and that is what i thought coz it seems to be violating the rule. anyway, this seems to attracts a lot of new comers here as well as those who are having a hard time earning the amount they are wanting despite their post number. i dont post much as you can see on my post number but i try to make sure that i am imparting something with sense with everything i am responding and i think that helps me earn decent earnings here since i became active. like most says, post, post post with quality on it will give you a good earnings. have a good one.

maybe, but i remember months ago seeing the same discussion being deleted, i was too naive then and i posted there and found out the next day it was gone. it didnt mention anything but the fact that it is kinda misleading in a way may trigger it, who knows sometimes a discussion is deleted coz someone doesnt like it and flagged and and makes the admin delete it. anyway, thanks for the response. takecare

Interesting. I'll make sure not to ever post in those types of discussions even to point out other things I'm aware help.

I agree being active is the way to go. I'm not sure if mylot would delete that one or not as its not actually TELLING anything about their earnings calculations.

Everyone thinks that there is an easy way to do everything. I think that person found a way to get lots of responses. Not that that really counts for anything. I know some people they should ask about earning on here, but you are right, it is what we all know already, and just often fail to practice. I wonder if you will get lots of responses to this one? It tells as much as that one did, apparently.I guess the real secret is to have a hook to grab attention with.

Saundyl, at least this made a good discussion. Myk--Things may have changed, but last year I ran a personal experiment. One day I posted a large number of discussions, and saw what I earned, which, at that time was exactly the same as what I earned from responding the same number of times. The next day I went in and posted a comment to each response through all 16 discussions and earned nothing for it. MyLot does change up how it pays from time to time, though. I always read that passage as meaning that making a comment to every response does not earn. One thing I have heard, Saundyl is that a discussion that gets a lot of back and forth, like this one is, earns more than one like you described, where there is no real give and take. I would not bank on it, but it would be nice.

I agree with "everyone" (or a lot of people) thinking there's an easy way to do things. I do know there are some tips that people share that are helpful but more along the lines of how to do things rather than how to make money at it. I haven't seen the bit about responding to discussions in the guidelines However I find the guidelines and FAQ aren't very helpful. I don't know if this will get as many responses or not. I'm not too worried either I just wanted to state how surprised i was at how many it got for the zip of info it gave.

WOW 10 pages of responses! That's amazing! I freak out if I get 2 or 3, LOL. I've been here over a year and I think I am still learning. I was amazed last month when I started making my responses 2 or 3 paragraphs instead of just 3 or 4 lines. It made a huge difference in my myLot income. This was based on a tip that someone who had a very high ranking had passed out to everyone. I guess we are all here to enjoy the conversation, but also to make as much money as possible while we're at it. :) Hope you have a great day posting!

I've only been here a couple months and I find something new everyday i didn't know about mylot (some i wonder if its just rumors). I also am amazed when my discussions get more than a few responses. Thank you for the tip about longer paragaphs/responses.

"I was amazed last month when I started making my responses 2 or 3 paragraphs... It made a huge difference in my myLot income." Question from a newbie (not sarcastic, just curious in hopes of learning more about how to earn on myLot) - What exactly do you mean by "huge"? Huge as in, "I doubled my earnings from 50 cents to a dollar" huge? Or... ? Also, someone somewhere said something about a daily earnings cap on myLot. Does anyone know if there actually is such a thing?

Eversince I joined mylot, I've read a number...as in a lot...of posts/members claiming to know the secret to earning more at mylot. Some of the information they posted are actually useful but some are just bogus. I only keep three things in mind...1. participate only in the discussions I'm interested in, 2. Be aware of posts that are more likely to be deleted and stay away from them and 3. be more descriptive.....It won't get you a lot of money but at least your posts will count. Why is everyone so attracted to the "secret?" For obvious reason, easy money.

You have picked out some of the best advice there is. I do not earn tons of money here, directly, but I have, by pursuing my interests, learned tons of profitable things. My money is easy, easy come and easy go. I have lots of fun, enjoy my time and try to be genuine. That is why I earn as much as I do. Not a fortune. But it is fun and that is worth more than almost anything.

Exactly! There's a lot of things to learn here....some can even lead you to earn more money. But like you, I am here more for the fun of discussion rather that earning BIG bucks. I even forget to check my earnings!

The three you listed are probably the biggest things to follow. I honestly don't think theres any real big secret other than the algorithm. I've found mylot to be very profitable in the ways of knowledge - sharing/discussing, friends, an outlet to share the upsetting bits

You are right, there is no secret to MyLot. The only way you will boost your earnings is hard work, placing your discussions correctly, and maybe getting some active referrals. Everyone is attracted to the "secret" because they are naturally looking for the easy way out. In the meantime, this person who posted this discussion has made a good amount of money from these people looking for the "secret". Take it from me folks, there isn't a way to cheat the MyLot system. Just keep posting, and you will make it.

Well we all want to make more I know ive searched on secrets how to make more money here when I first started but really there are no secrets the only thing you can do to make more money on here is post a lot and make your post long at least one paragraph which you will get the most for that post. But I dont think there are any secrets here and only noobs think there are secrets. I know because I thought there was a secret at first.

I saw that discussion yesterday. I don't know if it revealed the secret or not. I just don't have any time to read all responses since it was more than 10 pages. It is very popular and crowded. Do you get the message? Do you get the secret? Can you tell me the secret? Or everybody just drown in responses? I did.

I'm really baffled at people joining up to earn money - I thought the main point was to join in interesting discussions and make some friends! Maybe someone was having a bit of a joke to see how many people answered ... and it looks like it worked!

I think it's just that people want to earn more money and they are so desperate. I mean for some people, earning on MyLot might be slow but personally, it's one of the fastest earning sites I've ever used and of course, it's more enjoyable then doing hundreds of surveys and signing up for random things you are not interested in. People are attracted to the secret so they can make more on MyLot but I think the only secret to earning more on MyLot is by making a long quality post which would probably give you more money than a response of only one or two brief sentences.

The word secret is the attraction then...as well as the temptation to make more money easy. Makes sense but...It's more fun to just post about fun things than it is to go searching through discussions for secrets!

How do you earn money on this site? It is by using the site, posting an interesting discussion and getting good responses, right. So these person thought that by starting a discussion about the secrets of the site would make many gullible persons interested to post replies and post comments. Why do we ask for secrets, it is already defined in the FAQ of the site. Everything is there from do's and don'ts and how to earn more.

I noticed this morning (ok so i checked because i was curious to see) that the discussion was deleted. I wonder exactly what guideline it broke but I know others at the beginning of this discussion said it was probably going to be deleted. Therefore I doubt he made anything at all from starting it.

I saw the same post. After seeing all the pages of responses without the originator ever even replying I didn't bother wasting my time to post. I guess though it was a good tactic for having others reply to the post, thus making it longer and better rated for the day. I think the secret was to trick others into sharing what they know and replying. Guess it worked.
