ok...so I work for a financial advisory firm and we have some offices in different states and we all communticate via IMs. Today, one of my 'friends' in another office asked me if I had a myspace account. Of course I, like just about every internet surfer, have one. without hesitation i gave her my name to look up and she sent me a friend request (i accepted) and like that she is my myspace friend. But it got me thinking...is there anyone out there that doesn't have a myspace account? What do you do on there...look at 'bumper stickers', take quizzes, only chat with friends? Do you read other's blogs, or do you completely skip over them? How often do you get on myspace to see if you have any new comments or friend requests? I am a working mother, so i don't have time to check mine but once a week (or more often if i am slow at work like today) but ya know, that is plenty for me. Unlike my sister in law (16 years old) who absolutely freaks out if she isn't on there every single day and when she is it is usually for a couple of hours!! on that one site!! Which brings me to another question...is it more appealing to teens or adults?

Well I've been a MySpace user for about three years. And well at first when I just had just signed up, it was really addicting. But after a couple of months I started losing interest on it. Now I just check my mail and reply. I sign in on my laptop and never signs me out. So you can say I'm always "online", haha. Even when I'm out. But yeah, and I think it's more appealing to teenagers since they're at their prime of becoming social and making friends. Adults are sometimes just too busy to check their mail or even to be social at all, especially if you're married :-s.

I only log on to my page when I get a notification that someone has left me a comment. But then I have fun while I am there. I check in with all my friends and take a few quizes, read a few blogs and update my pictures. So, I'm not addicted like some people I know but I do enjoy it. I think it is more appealling to teens than adults..... but that's just my opinion.

Yes, I have a myspace account. It started when my teenager made one and said I should do one too. My husband already had one too so I said what the heck. Then I made all my favorite bands and actor, etc. friends. Just a week ago I got a message from an old high school friend I hadn't seen in 21 years. So, myspace is a great way to find old friends and keep in touch. If it hadn't been for myspace I would have never heard from her again as we now live 3000 miles away from one another.

I've had an account for about two years. There are quite a few celebrity types there, some of whom actually respond to their fans. I like that it allows up and coming talent to display their art to potential and future fans as well as agents who might hear them and think they are worthy of sponsoring. It's a very affordable medium for a struggling artist. I'm in my 50s (ouch - it hurts to admit that) and my daughter has more than one account, each with a different purpose. She uses MySpace to keep contact, answer invites (which is a good way to do it - saves postage), vent in the blogs, post her pictures, brag, scream, etc. I don't really have a purpose to mine except to voice the occasional opinion, do the groupie thing on a safe level, see who's up to what, learn new things, meet new people, people watch in general (there are some really interesting people out there with a HUGE range of interests and methods of personal expression). I've found Facebook easier to use, but it doesn't offer (that I can tell) the blog option MySpace offers, or the specialty options found in MySpace (comedy, music, etc.) It is easier to find people from my area in Facebook than it is in MySpace - I've found quite a few people I went to school with there who aren't in MySpace. But, each one has different features, so I'd be hard-pressed to choose one over the other. But, it does seem to me that there are more "Boomers" on Facebook than on MySpace.

I am in my late 20's and have had a page for almost 4 years now . It was a good place to get in connection with friends you went to school with . It really is like a blast from the past . I have made some really great friends on there, but noticed the last year it seems that teens have taking over. I dont get on all that much anymore. I like all the features, music, and graphics it has to offer.

I actually just signed up recently for my first myspace account and I am 23. I was never into it as a teenager, but everyone in my office has one so I thought that I should create one as well. Ha ha I guess out of peer pressure. I have found so many friends from High School that I had lost contact with. i think its a great site for people of all ages.

this must be more appealing to teens and young adults. it leaves me out cold as I have all I want here in mylot and I am a senior citizen so a lot of my interests do not lie in Myspace at all. to each his own. mylot and my various surveys take up most of my time and I am happy enough with those.

Myspace to me is more appealing to teens in a general nature thans adults to me. But there are some adults out there that just like your niece freaks out if they miss a day of being logged on to their page. I guess its so addictive because on myspace you are connected with friends and family in a number of ways and the same goes for adults also. I have a myspace account and i do check my page if not everyday at least 3 times out of a week. It just depends on what kind of day and week that i am having at the time.
