What part of your house would you love to change?

When the summer comes I always get fidgety with my house. What I mean is that I start wanting to decorate and change things and make it more mine,(we have not completed redecorating since moving in 3 years ago).
I wish that I had the money to totally do the house how I want, but we have not got the kind of money that I would need for it, and to save it up would take years and years. I do not want to be here for years and years!
I have a long galley kitchen that leads into a small utility area and then leads to a small toilet and the back door, I would love to totally gut this area and make the utility area and toilet into a better use of the space and have the back door moved. It would look fantastic.
What changes would you make to your house if you could? Or what changes are you making to your house?
Do you find when the weather turns warmer that you get the urge to decorate and change things?

I'm not good at visualising things to change. I'd like a new kitchen. I just can't figure out how to change my place. I think it would be very costly anfd I will never recover that sort of money if I sold. I'm thinking of getting a caravan for guests to sleep in - it's just a thought though.

The urge used to overtake me Rose...but im afraid that its the other way around now and im trying to think if I can wash the paint work rather than repaint it as im just not wanting to put up with all the muddles!!..Oh years ago I would have willingly papered and painted till the cows came home..but not now!!The one room that im always saying that I wished were different is my lounge..it tiny as ive told you and its cluttered!!but then I give the matter deep thought and rationalise...if it were to be bigger come the winter the heating bills would be higher...in fact there is enough room for hubby on his sofa..me on my chair and the dog on his chair...and if anyone else comes...well tuff!!..lolol so no all in all im going to choose to leave things as they are thankyou..

I would love to paint the walls in our lounge and dining area. They are all cream and boring. But because we don't own the apartment and are only renting, I can't really change a thing. I hope to own our own home one day :)

LOL
I actually have a couple of African wall hangings covering two walls - adds a bit color and culture to the place. I also have family pictures up on another and a few carvings from various places my husband has travelled on one too, so I suppose it's not too bad. Actually come to think of it, cream walls make our lounge and dining area seem bigger :)

Tessah, playing in the dirt is fine, but the bugs that come out of the dirt are not. I cannot cope with them, and the spiders, enough said XX

Oh there are SO many things in my house I would love to change!
First of all, my bathroom is seriously falling apart. It needs totally gutted and remodeled.
What I would really like to do is just remove that bathroom since you need to walk through my bedroom to get to it, and I'd like to build a new bathroom where my laundry room is now.
That would take a heck of a lot of money to do.
Also, all of my walls are old, and lumpy (?)
I would like to get all new drywall put up in the whole downstairs!
I would love to have wallpaper put up too.
Maybe if I had wallpaper it would hide the imperfections in the old drywall?
I don't know, but in reality I can't afford to do any of those things.
What I really need to do is just be happy with what I have.
The yard is another thing! I'm always looking out there planning what I would like to change. Take a tree out, plant a bush there, etc etc...

Yes I would love to have my kitchen done, I am hoping to get it done next year, guess it depends on how much I can save! I am in the process of having the garden done at the minute.

When summer comes, I always try to change my hall because that is the place where usually family members sit together and talk, I make my hall very colorful , I will decorate surrondings with nice colors and things , especially I will make sure that room is cool ,so that people can sit and relax, I like home decorating very much because if the house is good , you can spend much of your time there with your family and kids .

Right now,the only thing I can afford would be to paint the walls
and put up new curtains or blinds in the living room and each room.
For me, some cosmetic changes to decor, like new bedspreads or quilts
would make a world of difference.
We need to get our wall fixed in the computer room. A big hole
got knocked into it last year. I don't know how to fix
that kind of stuff. Now that my spouse is home more
he will have time to fix it.
Other than that, I have a huge wish list, none of which I can afford! LOL!
Be well.
Best of luck on your redecorating projects.
Thanks for the fun topic.

Actually I wanted to change or renovate the whole house, though I know I can't afford it this time. I want to have a second floor so I would get more space for bed rooms. I always have visitors and somestimes theres no more rooms for them, I remember there was one time wherein they only sleep at the truck because theres no more space inside. Oh I really felt sad about it but theres nothing I can.
Hopefully soon, with God's help I could also make my dreams for my house a reality.

Yeah that is a point, my daughter has a very small room that is fine while she is little but she will grow out of it one day. My 2 middle boys share and then my oldest has his own room.
We cannot add any more rooms onto our house so we will definately have to move within the next couple of years!

Well, I' really very fond of decorating the house, I love this task really, it really gives me some sort of fulfillment to see the improvements I make and I always focus on the living room because this is where we receive guests and I really want them to feel the comfort and beauty of the home. But by now, we have just built a totally new house so everything is practically new so no changes yet so far but only finishing touches. We made it bigger and elevated to avoid flood that frequents the place during rainy days. We are still in the process of doing the few last touches to finish the entire house and have just done the beautiful stairways leading to my only son's room. It's kinda expensive what with the rise in the price of materials these days but the outcome is really beautiful. Today, they are already starting with my new bathroom in our master bedroom. The color motif would be lavender and white and I'm already kinda excited and can't wait to see how the new bathroom will look like.

Everything needs fixed or made over , but slowly things are getting done . Gosh , I hate waiting .
First thing that needs done is a new bathroom . First thing I need is a new tub because this one leaks and is just a mess. Needs some updating too .

i would love to change our kitchen. my mother is not fond of throwing old stuffs, our kitchen is full of things that should be thrown or given to someone else since they have been idle for months. i would love to change our kitchen to be clean and free from clutter. i would also like to install new oven and dispose the old one so that i can bake again.
yes i agree when it's warm and during summers, i also feel the urge of fixing/ rearranging things in our house.

If there were a magic wand id wave it in my kitchen ,its the c***** little room ive ever seen.Theres not enuf space to swing a mouse let alone a cat and im always catching things in my clothes as I turn round. If it was ok we would build a small extension on but we cant as theres no scope to do this. The units need seeing to and we need a new sink but its a case of make do and mnd as far as its concerned.Maybe one day we will move to a bigger place and then ill be made.

My kitchen is narrow and long, if more than two people get in there it is overcrowded! We can not do anything to ours really to make it any bigger but it is fine, not like yours!

It's location!!! I'm actually fairly happy with the house itself but my main issue is that i hate the street we live on, hate our neighbours, hate the green outside of out house which attracts local youths (and thus attracts trouble!) and means we have to park a several min walk from the house, and just bascially hate the area/location it's in. So for the time being we are just doing little bits up and are planning to sell it and do some new place up.

Well, my bedroom is probably the only room that really shows off my personality...from the colors I have in it, to all the do-dahs and knick knacks...but oh, how I would love to re-do the rest of my apartment...like put new floor tiles in the kitchen and repaint, would love to repaint the living room and add more color to it..Right now it's (the living room) is in a nice aqua on opposite walls while the other is white..but I would love to make the whole room in colors. Since I do live in an apt. I can't really do any real major renovating...uh, somehow I don't think my landlord would be pleased with that

Every year end, before the start of the new year, I will have the urge to revamp my entire room and I am glad to say that I finally succeed this last year. I hope to do more changes at the end of this year.
As for the other parts of the house, I would really like to revamp my living room and kitchen. For my living room, it would be nice to repaint it to a brighter color and change the sofa. As for my kitchen, I want to install a big oven so that I can bake.
My kitchen is really small and it's impossible to put many appliances in. This partly explains why my family hardly cooks.

Gardening is really expensive, we saved up some money to get our garden done. What we had saved was just enough to get a small patio area put in!

I don't want to change anything in our house, except for I want to be a meter higher because when it rains here it floods.
