It does seem to be the trend for TV shows these days. But I never liked them. They used to call American Idol a reality show but I've always watched and liked it because I don't consider it a reality show, I think of it as a singing competition. I tried to watch Survivor and others but I just have no interest whatsoever. That's just me, I guess.

Reality shows are cheap to make, so as long as people will watch them the networks will keep making them.
As for the viewer appeal, I don't know! But there's something about them that people are attracted to! I personally don't watch reality shows, but I guess a lot of people do!

People love to hear what's going on in other people's lives. Watching reality TV is like being able to peer in on some of the juiciest deliciously outragious gossip.

I don't like reality shows. I find it distasteful for people to be using other people's troubles as their entertainment. I know the people on the show put themselves there for everyone to see, but I still don't think it's what people should be enjoying. I think that reality shows are so prevalent because of the writer's strike a little bit ago.
