The floods in Iowa not only lost many people their home but has already started to affect the rest of us with the higher cost of food. Thousands of acres of farm land is useless for this year as it is too late to replant any crops when the water finally recedes. Transportation of grains and other farm products is also affected. Barges can't travel the river for at least 2 weeks as the river goes down. Truck and trains can't get across the Mississippi because of bridges not safe. trains are setting because bridge and rails can't be passed. This flood is going to affect the whole Mississippi as it moves down river. I don't believe it will be confined at all as some levees are being broken.

I watched to bad news on tv and I was upset to know that things will be going up more. If you ask me right now the US is starting to feel the affects of something bigger than just high gas prices. There have been plenty of natural disasters this year and the flooding in Iowa is just one of many that has happen since the hot weather has started. Now what I didn't know is that Iowa held most of the US corn crops and that will really start to be hard on the farmers there that lost their crops. Now the rest of the people in the US will start to feel the affects of those crops being lost when the food starts to go up. Just like the gas prices are high; now food will be just as much. Majority of the food sold in stores has some type of corn in it and that will hit the country hard. Have a good one.

The price of everything will start to go up corn and gas is just the bigging of something bigger. And the people are going too be the ones to pay for the problem at hand. When it comes to natural disasters they affect everyone. Regardless of your living status. Have a good one.

This is a very sad situation and is leaving so many people homeless and helpless.. I wish there was something we could do to help, but I am sure there will be pleas on TV for anything we can do to help.. We do need to pitch in and help when the time comes and we do know more about what we can do..
