Paying bills...do you do them all at once?

Some people keep all of their bills and pay them all at one time. I pay each one as I receive it...I would probably forget to pay them if I didn't do it that way. So, have you set aside a bill paying day...or do you pay them as you get them?

I do that too! I thought that I was the only one to pay bills that way. I used to pay bills every two weeks. I would bundle all bills and payments together and send out big batches, back when I had ten credit cards. Now, I have fewer bills and pay as they collect and come into the house. Sometimes, I have thought it would be easier for me to pay ahead on bills. That's just something I was thinking about doing.

I always pay them right on the day I receive them unless the money isn't there yet and then they go right by the computer until the money is in the account and I pay them right away. I'm pretty proud of that because we have excellent credit and I don't want to mess that up. I was so mad one time when I missed a cell phone bill but luckily it didn't effect anything and I paid it as soon as I noticed it had been missed.

I get paid on the 15th and 30th of each month. Therefore my bill paying is done twice a month, that means I never stop paying bills. lol The heaviest amount of bills are paid from 30th pay check. Years ago, when my finances were better I would pay them as I got them. Now I must wait until the money comes in.

I have a basket where I put the bills. I put the date that I need to pay them on the front of the envelope. Then I put them in order by date, so when I look at the front envelope, I know when it has to be paid. I usually pay bills on the 15th, the 20th and the 1st of the month.

I have two days out of the month that I sit and pay bills. I have middle of the month bills and end of the month bills. I'm starting to do more and more online now so bill paying day has become very different lately.

I used to set a day aside to pay bills. But I don't do that anymore. As soon as I get them in the mail now I pay them right away. As soon as I open I get on the phone and start paying them. I rarely use online banking anymore mine is done all over the phone. That is one plus side as well.

I tend to collect them until payday, and pay them all at once. It is easier for my budget to know how much money is coming out every other Friday, and to ensure that my payments are made. I also tend to set up automatic, scheduled payments ahead of time, so that I don't have to worry about the paper bills that are coming in.
