With online discount codes, the price was awesome and I got it within a few weeks. i was able to get 160 GB, 2 GB Ram, VISTA, 2.4 7200 RPM and a 4 year anything warrenty for under 1400

It depends on your budget and location. Location is important because not all brand is available in all location. If the specific brand is not available in some place, you can't use the warranty. If you have big budget, go with IBM. It is though and available world wide. The medium budget, go with toshiba. The low budget, go with HP. All of these brands are available world wide but only IBM has a 3 years international warranty. The others, only 1 year international warranty.

I got mine from bestbuy.com. I got a gateway and my husband got a HP and we haven't had any problems with them. We got them for christmas about 2 years ago. So maybe that would be a good place to buy one...Also try Circuit City...I think they might be more expensive than Bestbuy though. Good luck on getting that labtop of your dreams :)

Buying a laptop based on what you need and your budget.
If you are fans of technology, buy the newest laptop technology (which has good specs) from big brand such as dell, IBM, Toshiba etc. It is expensive.
If you work as graphic designer, video editing, choose laptop which has good graphics spec.
If your need just for office or internet, choose low spec laptop (this one is cheaper).

it's depend on what kind of type of work that u will do on laptop for. And of course the money u have to buy it.
HP, IBM (Lenovo), Dell is some best brand to choose, but if you don't have some money to buy it, Acer or Asus are some option that you can choose
