bringing home disgruntled troops

I've recently met several soldiers returning from Iraq and their opinions on pulling the troops out differ greatly. One said he was wasting his time over there and nothing was getting accomplished. Another young man stated that he was a soldier and soldiers go where their told, no questions asked. One Army Captain told me that the soldiers fill a need by helping the Iraqi people. Should we keep soldiers over there that don't want to be there or should we bring them home?

I dont think you can just bring home "disgruntled" troops. There is not test you can give a brigade and determine who is going to stay and who is going to leave. They are not going to ask for volunteers to stay or go also. My guess is that everyone would want to go.

Actually, the units that have had the most rotations in Iraq have the highest re-enlistment rates. All of them re-enlisting, knowing it means they'll be going back.

For every complaining soldier that speaks out, there are probably 100 more over in Iraq who accept it is their job and are happy to help in any way they can. The complaining soldiers should use their words to encourage the ones still over there serving istead of making their jobs seem insignificant.
