How many of you are close with your dad? I am def wayyy closer to my dad than to my mom. I went to see my dad on Father's Day. My sister did not go. It made me mad because my dad is one of the few good guys in the world. I love my dad and I think both my sister and I are very lucky. So many men are not good dads. I don't know why she didn't go, I know she is closer to our mom but that is no excuse. He has never done anything wrong to her. My dad always supported our family, he was always there for family events. I guess I get tired of everyone making excuses for my sister. Everything she does is based on her. She can be very selfish. I sent her a text message that I thought it was shady of her not to go. I love my sister but when is she going to change he priorities? It's always about her friends. I love my friends too, but Father's Day is just one day out of many. She even puts going out with friends before her kids. What is up with that? She can drive an hour to see a friend but won't drive 15 minutes on Father's Day to see her dad.

As you've said, her priorities does not top list your father. Maybe she is not as family-oriented as you are. No one can tell when one changes so just continue with your relationship with your father and your tolerance with your sister. Maybe she hasn't realize yet the value of your father and her other family members.
I am closer to my mom but I do respect my father. You are right that there are a lot of father out there who are not fatherly.
