do you believe in ghost?

i know this has been asked many times in most forums (i guess) but i would love to start my own and hear from anybody out here.
i grow up being scared in the dark but i have learned not to freak out too much as time goes by.
anyway, most people think i have six sense or something as i can feel or see something that is beyond the eye.
i have so many experienced already but i always thought that maybe it was just an imagination or i guess i am just afraid to admit that maybe what i am seeing and feeling is true and i will be too paranoid about anything that is moving in the dark LOL
anyway, it all started when i was in high school (13 years old) and since then my life is never the same.
the worst among this extra ordinary experienced is when i was living in singapore and the apartment i am living in have an old lady who is always angry she was tangling me on my neck one time and just keep doing crazy stuff if i am sleeping like moving my bed and even if i am awake it is still moving and some times you will hear sudden noises (plates and stumping and or alarm clocks alarming and when you tried to turn it off another one will alarm and it will be like 6 different alarm clocks (so i have to say that is not just plain coincidence)
there is another one that i had experienced when i was 16 years old and i am staying with my aunt and i keep seeing and dreaming about this baby and i keep feeling that cold atmosphere wrapping me sometimes or touching my toes.
that goes on for more than a month till i get the nerve to ask the name of the baby and he told me "richard".
i was afraid to tell the story to my aunt coz she gets mad easy and im afraid she will be upset that i am just making stories.
anyway, my other aunt comes visit me and asked me what is wrong with me coz i am not sleeping much so my eyes looks like crazy (yeah im that high LOL)
so i told my her that i am dreaming and seeing this baby named richard and to my surprise and her surprise she told me that my aunt (who owns the house) have a son named richard who died when he is a baby coz of fever with infection on it.
i couldnt believe it but the next time that baby showed i told him i am gonna pray for him and will tell his mom and after that he never showed up again but before i leave my aunt's home he showed up with just a smile on his face and i assume that is his way of saying "thanks"
anyway, i cannot force you to believe but it sure does happened to me and not just once.

Hi jairgirl, I'm neither a believer or non believer, but I do have a fairly open mind. I can see why you would have been scared of the dark growing up.
My wife and I did have an older friend, who said she could sense things, and we had a sleep out on the side of our house, leading off one of the bedrooms. She wouldn't go into this room, as she said she felt a presence in there, and a couple who stayed with us one night also said they'd heard weird noises. We had planned before to remove the sleepout, and after we did, our friend could no longer feel anything in there. So I guess that does make me a little more a believer.
Now, I hope your sixth sense isn't picking up bad vibes from me, cos I really am a nice guy, LOL!

I can imagine how you would feel, and I wouldn't like to experience it myself. If I knew the ghost or spirit was friendly, I might be able to relax more, but I'd rather not have the experience. I do not envy you, jairgirl.

you NICE guy? seriously? LOL
sensing something that is very strong is not good it is making you feel uncomfortable and makes your heart beat palpitate like crazy.
the apartment i mention on my discussion that i stayed in singapore is a very horrible one and others wont even bother to come inside coz they can feel it greatly.
our care taker only meet us down stairs coz she said every time she tried to go inside she get too sick and almost had an accident inside so she always tell us that she will just be downstairs waiting.
im glad you remove the sleep out room maybe the spirit there prefer it is not there and she feel more secure if she is just left alone - who knows.
anyway, great to know you have an open mind some dont but that is their choice so i cannot do anything about it.

oh cool, i like stephen's writing but i dont like to read it so i prefer to watch it when it release on the movie, so you have the creepy part in you ei? LOL
he is a great writer i think and very good/playful man as well.
do you read all his books?
the last one i think that i watch one of his writing is kingdom hospital, i like the scary and funny mix there, it is very interesting that is why i guess i like him.
anyway, i find it funny that you like stephen (known for writing scary stuff) and you dont want to mingle with ghost, who does anyway haha!
dont look at the mirror i'm staring at yah!

Hi jair, I had 3 stories also in my life about strange things. I saw an old man in the apartment we were renting when I was 5 yrs old and even up to this time, the form is still fresh and I can still imagine him fully...My mom that time didn't believe me, I was crying so hard and I told her that he was in our sewing machine and eating some chicken..My mom checked it and found an old bone of chicken and wondering since she was cleaning the area prior to the incident. My dad decided to move us in a new place. Another experience also when I got my first job.We were 3 girls who were just residing inside the building or compound where we worked. Several night we will wake up and check different offices because the noise, laughter will always wake us up, like 2 to 3 am in the morning, but, as usual, we will see nothing..We learned lately that those buildings were hospital for 20 years...LOL!

OMG that is way too freaky, the fact that there is the chicken bone right in your eyes makes it really scary. when i heard the name of my late cousin it was like my hair is up in the ceiling how much more if that is the case like yours - im sure all kinds of hair will be up there too LOL
im glad that your father move you guys out, i wont be able to live there too coz i am always afraid, though i have experienced strange stuff still i will never get used to it.
you sure have the eye for them, sounds like kingdom hospital to me LOL
do you get scared? what is your reaction whenever this happens?
our last apartment in china have this girl and i thought it was only me who is seeing her but my hubby says she say her too and our dog will always act as if he is very scared or run from kitchen to our bedroom as if someone is playing with him.
i also hear her copying my sister's voice calling me at least 3 times in 4 incidents, the last time i checked my sister's room and she was sleeping i thought she was playing with me so i wake her up coz i thought she is just pretending but her pissed reaction gives me the realization that she is serious haha!
anyway, my hubby and i didnt let her know coz she is a such a rabbit and will just cry and wont be able to live normal so when she is about to move in finland we told her the story and she is so mad to us coz we left her alone if we are going for a vacation haha.

It was really scary but we have to be strong or else, we will be crazy..LOL! When things will happen, my co-worker suggested that they( ghost or whatever we call them) are scared to be threatened like we will burn this house/building if you will not stop..LOL, without any proof about it, we will be shouting altogether to treat them..LOL and sometimes, play the music to the maximum loudness to get rid of them..

Oh yes, I believe in Ghosts. I even belong to a ghost hunting group.
I have seen things. I will tell you about one of the more interesting ones. One night while spending the night at a friends house I saw something. I was on the couuch, the house was dark and fairly quiet and I was trying (and failing) to sleep. I was laying there, staring at the ceiling and occasionally checking the clock, when someone, a girl, came walking from the stairs to the room. I thought at first that it was my friends younger sister, on her way to the bathroom (the bathroom was on the lower floor and you had to go through the room I was in to get there) but then, no lights came on and no doors opened or closed. I walked out toward the batroom and the kitchen and no one was there......

you sure have the guts that i wish i have. it must be fun to do those hunting. i like to watch ghost hunters in scifi channel but not much now coz they dont have much to show or must i say nothing that i feel is very interesting except that one where they are under the basement and they keep hearing a girl's voice giggling and copying them.
i have watched a video long time ago about this news reporters (or students) who have real encounter with ghost in a house (hotel?) and it was really scary coz they caught on video the flying blocks and other strange thing going on out there.
i had the same story like yours and i thought i was only sleeping but the house owners says she is always there watching everybody - strange!

I never believed in ghosts because I am a science student and belive in theory and practical if that is proved. As for the ghost that is an illusion and We never try to prove and examine about the fact . We dimply frighten and pass to the other people and make scared to them . We never try to remove the scare from our child mind instead we increase the scale of scare.
So due to these reason I don't belive in ghosts.

hello there,
great to hear from a science student. my hubby is the same he will always say that same quote of yours though he will agree with me that he sees the same thing (i will asked him to describe it first so i know he is not being a jerk) but despite all those he will say he is a science man and will only believe it when he have the proof in his hand.
i guess such believe is same with atheist who believes that religion is a myth like the greek gods and i agree with them coz i dont see a proof in my hand.
saying that, you have my agreement that to see is to believe, except in teh ghost case coz i have some proof with me and i cannot force you to believe me till you have your own which is understandable.
btw, i believe that we shouldnt scare our kid as it affects their mind and self confidence growing up. i am a victim of this coz my mom will always tell me to sleep or else a ghost will get me, those words will linger in ones mind and will grow up having the same thoughts and it is just not fair.
having said that i therefore conclude that we have different beliefs LOL

no, i do not. they are just a sub-conscious picture of our mind. whenever we were told about ghosts and their deeds, we used to imagine some similar structure. this got more and more bearing on our lives when we watched ghost movies in our teen age. so it our eyes which show us the ghost.mind should be allowed to believe. i do not exactly disbelieve the aforesaid lines of yours but i feel that you may be mistaken.

i understand where it is coming and why you say so, i used to believe the same way coz i grew up having oldies scaring the heck out of me so i will follow whatever they say "go to sleep or the boo boo will get yah!" LOL
but i guess, once you experienced something that is beyond beyond and some even caught it on tape or even have something on their hand as a proof makes it hard to say it is just an imagination and or a subconscious mind talking.
mind according to most is very powerful and can create something that is greater than what we can think or imagine so maybe you are true and or like you said maybe mistaken.
either way, we all have our belief and i always see i will only believe something when i see it and have it right in front of me.
same goes with you, and that is the smartest way to believe (my hubby always say that LOL)

Ghosts are demons. They DO have "powers," especially to deceive, but they are not to by toyed with lightly.
I'm sure you likely know the "rest" of whatever I would say, so I'll save my breath.

dont worry, I LIKE all answers that is why it is called a discussion i have a very open mind and heart to accept anything there is to accept and a NO is part of it.
i know a lot of people who believes the same way you do and i cannot blame them but do have my respect coz that is their belief just so happen it is different than mine.
i know it is stated in the bible that devils has its own ways of fooling others and maybe it is true but to those who dont believe in bible they will say it is not and will give you other reason.
no matter what the reason is endless.

Am a hardcore skeptic...hate to burst your bubble but theres no such thing as ghosts...if you believe that you indeed have a sixth sense then its just the other 5 senses playing tricks/imagining things....for example when the eye adjusts to darkness/dim light it conjures up images for the brain...these images from shadows/silhouettes are converted to something that the brain understands like a human form/face...in order to form that face, the brain searches the memory and comes up with possible candidates....voila! you have your own Ghost created right then and there.
Dreaming and seeing baby is because...LOL..find something to keep yourself busy.

When I was in grade 7 in 1970 I was boarded in one of the leading Catholic schools in Sri Lanka. Every night in our dormitory we used to hear the sound of footsteps coming up the wooden stairs and then running down. Even the priests were scared. When we prayed before the 1970s we would say Holy Ghost, but then it change to Holy Spirit. The priest would get mad at us if we say Holy Ghost as it means a evil spirit.
But I was famous for not fearing the dark. Still I was a heavy sleeper and never woke up to hear the sound of the Ghost footsteps.
One fine day I did walk up to the sound of another boarder shouting with fear. I walked to the top of the staircase in the middle of the night. This is what was happening:
There was a plank that had got loosened and was hanging with a piece of wood. When the wind blew it would turn and strike something giving the impression of someone climbing staris. After turning fully it is now tense hanging on a wooden piece which is twisted and turned. The moment the wind stopped it would go back turning faster than it took to get wound.

thanks for being here and for sharing your experienced, i find it interesting that you studied in a catholic school i said this coz i know that sri lanka is often a hindu, buddhist, muslim and even sikh country. i remember when i stayed in singapore i have this friend that i like to tease because he is a christian and i told him that i cannot believe that. there is another one that comes from bangladesh and have the same religion.
i always end up being teased that i dont know asian country that much and i seem to have the impression that majority of indian decendants have same religion other than catholicism.
anyway, yes as a kid our imagination us full and our brain can produce all kinds of stuff without thinking where and what it is really.
i know that when i was a kid i am afraid of thunder and leaves that is swaying coz they give me that creepy feeling haha.
that is great that you dont get scared easy, i wish i am coz i like to experienced strange stuff and i know my fears hinders me to do so.
oh well, i hope in time i get better.

Yes, I believe in ghosts. I have actually had many experiences, not just with the spirits themselves, but with things occuring. An example is while I was washing dishes one day. The cats were zooming through the house making quite a commotion. I turned to yell at them to behave and saw large spots of blood on the floor. Some were the size of quarters and some smaller. I yelled for my husband and we began to check the cats to see whom was injured. None of them were hurt and neither of us were hurt. Some time later an uncle stopped by. He mentioned that his grandmother had taken a straight edge to his granfathers neck in that very spot. Yes, it's a family home. It hasn't happened again. My husband does sometimes here what sounds like an old fashioned radio playing and attributes that to his great grandparents.
I have seen and experienced many other things over the years. Some good, some not so great. And it is hard to tell people.

thanks for sharing your experienced, i have not experience something that has something that can be a fact like the way you do or some others here who responded.
i wonder what cats can see, i always remember my grandma's word saying that cats can see what our eyes cant but i feel any form of animals do as well.
i am glad that you are keeping your home despite that, im sure some of them just need attention, it can boring sometimes i guess LOL
back in china the apartment we are in we sometimes hear the television turns on and when we checked it no one is there or sometimes it will turn off if we are watching something laud, dont know if that is something but we have learned to ignore.

yeah i believe you because i have experienced that before..i start seeing those when i was 13 years old same old as you..we are having a recollection in our school and we stayed there for a night..i am with my friends in our room in the school..then i want to pee because it is very cold there,then when i a going to ask one of my friend to come with me,ive changed my mind because she is very busy and i dont want to interrupt her in her work so i go to the bathroom alone. When i finished i went up to the mirror to fix myself then i feel something different..i look to the window and i saw a girl walking..my gosh..she is walking in the air..actually theres no path in the window because when you looked on it..you will see sceneries and its a high place..gosh..i know it is a ghost and when i told my friends that i saw a girl walking outside the window..they got scared..im very scared too..it is my first time to see a ghost..my second time of seeing a ghost happened on my grandmothers house..i went to my province last May to take a vacation there..yeah i admire that place because there are lot of trees there and i am enjoying there because there are many great sceneries there...when im in my grandmas house i usually locked the door of my room..one day all of them is outside of the house,my sister buy some food with my cousin,my aunt and grandma is outside of our house...then one of my cousin enter the house..we have an argument before and i am angry of him so i move the door slightly but i did'nt locked the door i can still see him sitting on the chair..then after that i went to the window and i grab the mirror to see what i look then i fix myself..and while im fixing my hair..i saw a very dark small child..gosh i run outside holding the mirror and my cousin that i hate saw me and ask me whats happening to me but i didnt say any single word because im totally shocked..then my sister and cousin arrived and asked me what happened to me..gosh i did'nt talk the whole day because of that and i drink a lot of water that they because i thought that i am going to have a heart attack..the next day i told the story to my granda and aunt but sadly they did'nt believe me instead they said that it is only my imagination..i want to tell them that it is really true but i did'nt do it because i know that my aunt will get mad of me..if they see what i see..gosh...so i believe in you because i have experiences of it..

kidding aside it is not easy to say something like that specially if the listener will be upset if you tell them what happened as they think you are fooling around.
that is the same feeling i have so i never tell it to anybody who dont believe except of course who does.
i used to remember being a kid and i am afraid of mirror every friday the 13th but it was like tell a tale so i get over it BUT my sister is always afraid of mirrors so she dont want any mirrors in her bedroom or anything big around the house coz her imagination (according to her) is very wild and that alone is enough reason to follow or else she will have a heart attack.
i guess, in case like this those who havent experience such thing will be more and very skeptical about this matter compared to those who experienced it.

i have experienced seeing ghosts a few times.. well more than a few lol.. i have lived in a few haunted houses so its kind of hard to deny that lol.. i go through stages where i dont see them often and then i will go through stages where i see them more.. it seems as if stress makes me more able to see them than when i am not.. most dont do anything but just i guess the kind that just come through and thats it.. others i have had throw things at me and throw objects around.. i dont mind seeing them but i hate it when im around people that dont believe and think i am just crazy lol but there are some people that just arent able to see them even when they want to

i know how it feels like to be around others who dont believe and they think your nuts LOL
my mom-in-law love to experience it but she thinks she is not blessed with such spirit but she have an open mind.
i know there is someone who says that stress can create a lot of stuff in our head and that can screwed up what we are seeing, feeling as well as hearing but it is hard to explain something if they cannot relate really coz it is like telling someone the truth but they say it is not.
skepticism is present in our world and it sure is a huge part when it comes to those who dont believe.
i find it strange coz those who dont believe in one, if one of their love one pass away they want to talk to them or believe that they will somehow come back and let them feel them so that is something i dont understand.
oh well, different mind i guess.

Hi Jairgirl! I do believe in ghost because I have the capacity to see them. I sterted to noticed ghost since I was 5 years old.The first ghost I have seen in my life was a little girl with a height of I think 3ft, she has a short hair, she was wearing white gown, and she is pretty.she would come to my room every night and trying to communicate with me but I did not understand her.After a year she disappear.but until now I can remember her face.,she is not the only Ghost I have seen, I have seen lot of ghost in my whole life.
during my college life i have seen a lot of this in the hospital i am affiliated I have seen a very old woman sitting in a wheelchair near the station but only me and my best friend can see it some of my group mates would say that we are just having delirium.
When I was also 5 years old I have seen a half man half pig.his head,mouth,ear,upper and lower extremities was a pig but his body and the way he stand is a man.I talked to that ghost but he did not answer me.a week after I seen him our neighbors and other people told my mom that they also seen half man and a half pig loitering around in our town.

thanks for participating and sharing your experienced.
wow! you sure have a lot and i have to say that you are one brave soul.
you remind me of the neice of my mom-in-law, when she visits us last month she told me that one of her neice can see and communicate with the unseen beings and that makes her neice feel strange sometimes.
you have started so early, i wonder if your mom sees the sign of that while you were a baby coz i know some parents can tell if their babies are showing such talent.
i have heard a lot of stories coming from staffs that works in a hospital, seems like that place is full of it i guess because it is like a place of beginning and end of life.
my mom works in a health center and i remember being so afraid at night coz we hear a lot of foot steps and the bed moving as if there are so many people on the side of the room.
we found out that the place where the center is, is a home that takes care wounded soldiers during the war so that might be the reason. who knows.
btw, i have never heard of someone saying about man pig, i know there is a urban legend of half man and half horse but not the one you have experienced.
that is very interesting indeed and for many to see it is something.
i wonder what the half man and half pig wants then?

Well !! I do believe that they exist. But I dont feel they are any powerful than us humans. They always target the week and feable soul is what I have heard. See!! I beleieve that we are made up of 3 elements, The physical being ( Our body), mental being ( Our mind) and the Psychic being ( our Soul). When we die Our body disolves over a period of time, Our Mental being ( be it our desires, Anger, Unfullfilled wishes, Hatred or what ever) wanders around on this earth and finds a suitable body (another person) and gets into them.. The Psychic being, the soul travels to a different plane through Space. It takes its own sweet time, May be a day a month a year or even hundreds of years to come back to earth in the form of life. So this mental being is what you term as Ghost. They are very subtle forces that cannot possess you under normal conditions even when you are scared of ghost.. But when you become so weak and too scared and think about ghosts all the time, You are subconsciously sending out signals to all of them around you stating that you are ready to be possessed and then they come for you. As of me, I am little scared about them but I am strong to let them into me

thanks for such post, it was indeed very informative i like to read stuff that feeds my mind and though i dont agree to some i still appreciate the knowledge you did impart to me as well as the other readers.
i said i dont agree with some of your words coz like you have a different belief.
i dont think a weaker mind/personality attracts such thing coz there are some who is completely innocent and just happened such thing out of the blue.
i remember this speaker who says that our soul have this colorful aura who give signals and attracts anything whether we like it or not that is why some are susceptible and some are dont.
also, some just have a feeling or experienced of it and not necessarily mean they are possessed so that is another thing.
anyhow, we both have a different view and i enjoy reading a post that is different yet gives me information for me to think about.

Hi there! I too have had many experiences I have seen full body apparitions and heard voices and seen orbs. Once I was sleeping on the couch in the living room and was awakened by the couch jumping up and down on its own! I have seen things that many people only wish they could have. And I don't know why. Why did God choose me? I am blessed! I believe that all these gifts come from above. That we are responsible to others, and need to use these gifts to help other people and families. We need not fear these things, but to investigate them and try to understand them. I belong to a paranormal invest. team now, and that is what we do. I guess I am what is called a sensitive. You may be too. Keep a journal and document everything that happens. I believe that what we document will be used in the future to help figure out what we are experiencing. thanks for sharing your thoughts and i have to agree with you completely as i believe the same way except for the fact that i dont do further than experiencing it, i guess part of me is still afraid.
some of the ones i feel or see seems to fall to those who needs help for peace of mind and or just need attention.
like i said my late cousin richard seems to just want prayers and let his mom know about him and after that it is over.
it is amazing when you see a crying soul and have a smile in the end and that makes me feel i fulfilled their desire and they will be resting after that.
i dont know.
i always think that my late ex bf have protected me to find a not worthy man as he seems to show up to all of 'em till i met my hubby and after that i have never felt or see or dream about him. i guess he finally say that i am safe now and that he trust the one i picked.
anyway, good luck on your journey and may you be able to help a lot of 'em.

yes, i do see it same way but i dont think ghost or anything paranormal is negative i just think it is different and not see it otherwise.
i have an open mind that there are those who dont believe in god but believe in ghost and vice versa.

yes, physics and psychics believe that it is a form of energy and it evolves around us all the time.
some is strong and some is subtle and it only depends to the other energy how it will react.
i dont know how that concept works but i have only little understanding of it coz i am not a real reader LOL only love to listen hehe.

I find it hard to believe in the concept of ghosts but I believe in them! I have witnessed some pretty weird stuff in my life!

cant blame you on your belief coz my view is to see is to believe.
i think our world is full of strange stuff and sometimes we can only feel or see them if we really want to and sometimes even if we dont.

Actually I'm a person will believe something with a prove.
I have never experienced about ghost thingy, so I just believe in half and still in doubt.
I hope I will not experience it. If the ghost thingy is like the movie kind scary, sure I will be scared by it.

i am like you, i am skeptical about a lot of stuff till i have the prove - just like mylot i keep saying i dont believe that they pay despite what others say till i have the payout in my hand SO now i am a believer!
anyway, based on my experienced it is not like most scary movie coz some is not that scary at all BUT you will feel strange that is for sure.
i just hope i never have the time to be in same position as in the sixth sense movie coz that is over the top and i will be crazy LOL
i think majority will be scared if such thing happen that is just a normal reaction in my opinion.

great question indeed! i dont know if that is possible but i can only say that a person can be susceptible of being affected of such experience (am i making sense?)
maybe a person who can feel and see the paranormal can be considered haunted but i dont know where to draw the line.
i would think that if a person is haunted then it is kinda like being possessed but that is something as i know there are so many fraud out there so i cannot really relate to it.
i have never seen one and i can only say it is possible if i saw a legit one, but i am not hoping to see one today or anytime at all LOL
