I lived with cats around all my 56 years. I have seen them hiss and care on when there was nothing around that you could see. I have seen them look at something that to you was not there. I have one that when I get into one of my deep depression the cat stays by me, follows me if I get up. Some cats are just sorta dumb, but,for the most part they seem to be so intuitive it is eery. They never cease to amaze me.

i've heard how smart cats can be but we had an experience where no brain was being used. our cat squeaky loved to roam outside. a neighbor told us they put a trap out to catch rabbits. so during that time if squeaky wanted out we had to tie her to a tree. she walked around and around the tree until she was standing on her hind legs gagging. as soon as i realized her predicament i carried her around to loosen the hold of the rope, then untied her and kept her in the house. just one step backwards would have stopped her gagging.
