Already missing my girl

My mil called me up this evening to see if it was ok for my daughter to spend the night with her tonight and spend the day with them at Dollywood tomorrow. Since I haven't really been feeling good today anyways I decided to let her go ahead and spend the night. My daughter was so excited when I told her her Nana was coming to pick her up. She absolutely loves going to her Nana's house and getting to play with her aunt and uncle.
But now as I've been getting ready for bed and tidying the house I just read her little Mother's Day card hanging on the fridge that she made at MDO. I saw those little hand prints and almost started to cry. Our house just seems so empty without our little girl. As you can tell I'm still not too good at letting her stay overnight anywhere. This is only the third time she's had a sleepover. But the good thing is my mil is really great about the whole thing and they live really close so I can go over there and get her if I ever change my mind. But I won't. I know she has probably had a blast over there tonight and will have a ton of fun tomorrow. I guess I'm just missing kissing that cute little face good night.

Hi cynddvs! I am sure your daughter is really having fun with her nana and aunt and uncle. And I guess it is just understandable to miss your little girl even it is just for a night. You're such a sweet mom!
Take care and God bless!

Awww so sweet... i bet she's a very cute, lovely and sweet little girl. I'm not yet a mom but i'm sure i'd feel the same when i'm in your shoes.
Don't worry, like you said, she's enjoying her time there and it's gonna be her chance to feel loved and bond with her grandma, uncle and aunt. You'll have her back soon and.. I'm sure she misses you too. ;) Have a good day! :)

That's very sweet!
You're a really good mom.
I worry about my little girl
and miss her when she's not around.
I like to check in on her when
she is sleeping to make sure she
is not too hot or cold.
I've always been a worry wart
mom and proud of it!
Happy to see that other moms
have such intense feelings for their
own children, too!

I know the feeling. Children should learn to be away from us mothers once in a while. We tend to overprotect them and tend to their every need. Being without us will help them learn how to handle themselves.
But we feel so empty and lonely without them. I have a two year old who is very attached to me and i dont know how i can make him learn to be away from me. Maybe he is too small to learn that.
I loved your post and it gave me a warm motherly feeling inside me. Hope your daughter has a wonderful time at her grandmas house.
