According to my Professor in psychology people not stop in dreaming everytime they were asleep. There are some cases we thought that we don't have dream when we got awake because w can't remember those. But my professor said, once we stop dreaming that was the time of our death.

I remember watching a documentry about sleeping patterns every person dreams even if they cant remember the two main reasons for not remebering a dream is 1,you need to want to remember your dreams to recall them and 2,if the person sleeping is woken up suddenly the mind wanders away as you only have several seconds to actually remember a dream as soon as you awake, If you really want to remember your dreams but you awake during the night they say its best to write down in a dream book or on paper what you remember in your dream because when going back to sleep its unlikely you'll remember when you awake in the morning, and apparently our dreams only go for several minutes.. I was amazed at that as sometimes it feels like I'm dreaming for hours
