I'm looking for some summer reading suggestions.
I'm a history major and really into biographies and American/European history. I also got very interested in Indian history from a course I took this last term at college.
Does anyone have any suggestions? In terms of fiction I do get into the thrillers like the DaVinci code and any kind of detective/Law and Order type books.

I love historical reading.
Memoirs of a Gesha is a great one.
You might enjoy anything with Louis and Clark, but non come off the top of my head right now.
Treasure Island is a great one too! I love books with pirates in them.

I would definitely recommend "A World Lit Only by Fire" by William Manchester. It's an excellent read, and it's relatively amusing and intriguing. It's mostly about the medieval mindset and the Italian Renaissance. Like I said, it's very interesting.
There's also "Wild Swans" by Jung Chang. It's about the lives of three generations of women in one family in China.
"Angela's Ashes", "'Tis", and "Teacher Man" by Frank McCourt.
