Does it ever irritate you when you favorite indie/underground artist or band makes it big? Like when you think you are one of the only people to listen to their awesome music and then not 2 weeks later their music is ALL over MTV? I know we should be happy for "our" bands, but becoming mainstream seems like selling out.

well ,their dream is to be recognized in the 1st place, so we cant blame them for wanting to gain more following. but its cool anyway, coz the more popular they are, the more easier it is to get their songs and to attend their concerts. after all, every bands dream is to be famous one day and earn lots money, and to live the "rockstar life".

1st, bands who's wanting to be on the top are those only for money and fame. and that kind of bands are craps who's trying and trying and beginning to be mainstream and when years pass, they vanished.
i cant blame of that bands for craving for hollywood fame, but does that sound so like into money not for their passion??

oh.. that thought never crossed my mind as to what their intentions are when they first form a band.. but i think that everone that forms a band in the 1st place has to have the passion for the craft, and not to mention the determination to succeed.. if they suck they wouldnt get a record deal in the 1st place right? we cant blame them for wanting to be famous though, the main goal of a band is to get their music out there for everyone to hear.. i have yet to hear of a band that's solely in it for the money , though, since if your only in it for the money, you wouldnt be able to endure the frequent jammimng/practice sessions, songwriting/song selection process, etc, (assuming that they write their own songs). basically it takes a lot of hard work, so i think that people who form a band are really into the music. just like teachers, they dont choose their profession just for the money, (why would they make do with the small salary?) they have a passion for teaching.

I use to like Maroon 5 but now they were the shadow of their former self.

all band wannabees out there hope to make it big someday no matter how unique they want to appear. i do feel invaded when somebody else discovers my favorite indie band and dig them too...in my opinion, they can be huge and retain their artistic roots at the same time. after all, who can resist fame and money?
