Firstly i must say this is a good topic which can make us to think about our health problem on sleeping. On average i sleep about 8 hrs one day from about 12:00 in the night or so to 8:00 A.M, becos the company is about 20 minutes'
distance from my living place. It souds like I have got enough sleeping time , however I still feel not energic in the daytime. The most important thing is that whether you have sleep well doesn't depend on how long you have slept but how you sleep. It is said that the best nomal sleeping time is form 10:00 PM, no late than 11:00, becos from that time on ,our body begins to refresh itself and can have really good rest.
you can have some food or tea which can help u relax yourself,
Health is happiness,
best wishes for you,

hi,there, so interesting your response is, yeah, your r quite right, when we have our stomach full and we will be active and have energy.I mean just some traditional Chinese medicine, like big jujube( da 4 zao 3),etc, also drink some warm honey water, some other food which can really relax you,not have those food which can activate you, like beat, beaf, coffee. In fact I will eat nothing after 21:00 becos what u eat after that time will be a burden for your stomach.
Hope you can get good sleep,
All the best!

Actually, recent studies have found that 8 hours is not the best amount of sleep to get anymore and that most people function best on between 6 and 7 hours of sleep. I normally get 6 to 6 1/2 and I feel fine. If I sleep in on the weekends I feel sluggish all day but it's sooo tempting to go back to sleep a couple of times when you can get away with it.

dear spalladino I think you are right . Recent study shows that only 6 to 7 hrs sleeping is required for a human being. I regularly use to go to my bed at 11.30 PM IST and I wake up early morning at about 6.00 AM and I feel it fresh. If you sleep more than 7 hrs you will feel some uneasyness.

It really varies for me. Sometimes I won't go to bed until 2AM and have to get up for work at 8AM but sometimes on the weekends I'll go to bed at midnight and not get up until 11AM! When school's in session, I aim for 7-9 hours a night because I don't pay attention in class when I'm groggy.

Most of the time I only sleep 4 to 5 hours also. I have always had issues falling asleep and then staying to sleep. But with age, there are nights that I sleep a bit more sound and longer than others.
Sometimes it is due to medication or being sick that makes me sleep longer. Other days, I can't count how many times I woke up throughout the night!

I need about 8 hours sleep to be in a good mood during the day otherwise I get grumpy lol! But I will sleep anywhere between 3 and 12 hours on a night. I try to regulate my sleep by setting an alarm and going to bed at roughly the same time each night but sometimes I just don't sleep at all well.
