There nothing we can do..if you cant beat them just join them..this is a world problem..My country exports oil and we too are affected by this sudden surge in oil prices..We are to blame our self for this economic catostrophe..The reason i believe is the inclusion of some smart guys who promoted future comoditis investment..we have enough fuel and food but they hav all been bought up hoping to be sold for greater profits. secondly the people have become consumerism..which is buy buy buy and pay pay pay in credit cards..or in short 90% of the people have already spent 90% of their future 5 years incomes..good lesson for all of us..me included..Never mind lose the money but let us not lose the lesson learnt..much love ,fellow citizen of the world

We have been stuck at 3.99 and 9/10 for a week. I guess I shouldn't complain about them being stuck, the only place they would go would be up. It is pretty dismal every where and we are giving up running small errands and even driving any place of distance on the weekends. We might even just leave out the summer vacation this year.

i can't believe the prices! it pretty much has ruined our plans of going anywhere this summer. last i saw it our price for a gallon of gas was $3.99. it is supposed to go up again soon i think. i really hope that something happens to make it go back down again.

I just postetd a discussion about the same thing, but in the opposite direction. Prices have drastically dropped here, from $4.97 a gallon to $1.94!

In Romania, the gasoline price has reached 1,05 euros per liter and the 1,12 euros per liter for diesel. Still, people do not stop using their cars, even though drivers get stuck in traffic for longer periods of time every day. And you should see what happens when it rains: kilometers of waiting cars, green lights that become useless, pedestrians travelling at mind-blowing speeds compared to speed the vehicles move - hell, you may even get in line for a hot dog while driving between two tram stations. And all they seem to have in mind about it is: damn, why aren't we moving? In my perspective, people will stop using the cars at some point, but it won't happen because of the gas price. Cheers!

Sorry for coming in sooo... late. But situation has not changed much yet. We, in our country (India) are feeling the same pinch due to rise of fuel prices. In fact, the situation is more or less same everywhere in the world (except perhaps, major oil producing countries).
