ok my grandma who is 82 yrs old has had a home health aide for about a year now. well we've been thru 7 in last 8 months why? do you ask well because they are lazy they dont do what thier suppose to do, i go to see my grandma everyday and on my days off im up thier at 3 times in one day to make sure she is ok, and everytime i go the aide is sitting in the same spot( thiers a dent on that side of the couch from her sitting thier so much)wacthing tv and doing nothing. so i complain and nothing happens they send another one that is worse than the first one. so yesterday my grandma got upset and sent the aide home. today i get a call from the supv, telling me that my grandma can brake the contract because she is locked in long term she was basicaly threatening me that she has to stay with the aide. i told her that if she sends an aide i will throw them out everyday if i have too. so i need your opinions my fellow myloters did i handle the situation correctly? thanks in advance

You did the right thing, elderly care is an abused profession. I would go to the company and interview the people they plan to send over, that would stop them sending over dolts who don't care. Try to work with the company, if they don't want to cooperate then file a complaint with the BBB.

Sorry you've had to endure this crap from people who claim to "care". I'm sure your grandmother deserves the best and you being able to help in this manner, although it cuts into your time, will be very appreciated by everyone. Best of, and keep your head up and your feet firmly planted.

I cannot say I know much about this. I definately know if I was "hiring" someone to do something for "Myself or a family member" like in this situation I would be picky Myself. I hope Your able to get the help needed and expected. I can say when I have someone even My kids do something. I try to remember to say I expected that and I appreciate You did what was expected. Good Luck! God Blesses!
