That is the word of the day as the flood waters spill over major highways taking out family homes and large corperations alike in part's of America's Heartland.
How did the American Red Cross extinguish there monetary budget before the heavy bulk of the storm season has even befallen us?

I posted a response in another topic that seems to fit right in place here. Living in northwest Florida, I remember the aftermath of Hurricanes Ivan and Dennis. I traveled to Mississippi as part of a relief team after Hurricane Katrina. I saw the devastation of these storms first-hand. Another thing I saw first-hand was the kindness and compassion of the Red Cross and National Guard people who came into these areas to help after the storms. That is only one instance of what the Red Cross does for people. There are Red Cross volunteers all over the country and world working to make people's lives better after disaster. Aid is given to people who have lost homes in wildfires, earthquakes, or other natural disasters. Aid is also given to people who lose their homes and possessions in house-fires. I have not even really scratched the surface of what organizations such as the Red Cross do.
Now to make my point. Organizations such as the Red Cross have a hard time with funding, yet our government wastes billions of dollars of our tax money to explore Mars to see if life once existed there?? Why not use that money here at home where it can make a difference? Even if live did exist on Mars, humans will never live there in any large numbers. Use money that is wasted on this sort of thing to help people on Earth who really need it.

I have to agree with 100% instead of wasting money it should be put to good use with programs like the Red Cross. When I heard this news today I had been compelled to write something about.
The Red Cross once helped me and there people where the greatest.

That's a good question. I think they should open their books and let the nation see what happened. I wouldn't mind giving to them to help out. We should allocate some money that the federal government wastes and give it the most recognized outreach program on the planet.

America Red Cross will be out of money because they are always helping out other countries in their crisis. It is sad though that this situation has come to light during the hurricane season. But knowing the American People and their kindness to help they will bounce back up soon enough. What they should do though is to always have their inventory so that they will know what is in the kitty. Don't worry their is always help for the Red Cross, remember it is a worldwide institution and they are unified.
