I actually like the police. I remember a few years ago, after returning from a family trip, we were pulled over for speeding. We had been going about 80mph all night, as we had been traveling the interstate the whole way home. We did not realize we had entered a lower speed area (it still looked like interstate, yet, for some reason, it wasn't) and we found that we were going almost 50mph over the speed limit! The policeman asked us why we were going so fast, and we explained this to him. He knew what it was like, and was nice enough to let us go with a warning.

Wow, i'm shocked. You would think that a speed that high over the limit he would have wacked you good. In Florida that violation would have resulted in a mandatory court date (anything above 30mph over). At the hearing you would have gotten a $500 fine + court cost and 4 points for your troubles. That cop hooked you up righteous. Glad to hear there are good guys out there.

Worldwide the Police has been given bad reputation but there are good police out
there. I used to work with them as a secretary and working with them help me to appreciate the laws of our land. Yes, although I grown up with strict parents working with them help me to understand that obeying the laws will not make you turn to corruption, aiding and abetting corruption and doing crime which is unnecessary. I am glad that I was given that opportunity to work alongside them.

I'm actually glad you had a positive experience with the police. I was not looking to bash them just wanted the opportunity to view the publics opinion. Get a feel. I know the police have been well hated by the popular press and media in the past but I wanted to know how real people, not talking heads, felt about them.

Great question and topic! I've had both good and bad experiences with police. They have been quite helpful in times of need and I find that if you show them respect then they will show you respect in return! On the downside, me and a mate saw two police officers in our town being racist and picking on a guy because of his ethnicity. They were being quite violent so we said 'hey, there's no need for that' and then one of the officers grabbed me and pushed me up against a wall, then stole my mobile phone!
