I never used to seperate them at all and never had any problems whatsoever until one wash when I placed all the whites and darks in the washing machine and amongst the darks there was a blue towel. When I took the clothes out of the machine all the whites had turned either purple, blue or grey. I was so upset and my husband wasnt too impressed either as all his white work shirts were amongst the load. Since then I always do one white and one dark wash!

I always separate them because I put bleach in my whites.

Wash together in cold water. If it is new and colored, I will wash it separately the first time.

I use to separate them. But, I have gotten so lazy that I just wash them all together. I have a bad back and it hurts to keep bending and doing reptetive movements. God Bless

I usually separate them sometimes I don't have enough for a full load so I throw everything in together.

I always separate mine. I don't want to take the chance my whites will all end up pink LOL.

That happened to me once my whites weren't white anymore...lol. I was in a hurry one day and threw them in a lot together, what a big mistake that was...lol. So never again I always separate them! Thanks for your response :)

I wash all colors together...unless I have something of color that I know will fade.

I only separate things when they are new, otherwise I just check everything in together. I've never had any problems!
I usually wash towels separately though, otherwise they put fluff all through the clothes
