Which ride

June 18, 2008 11:08am CST
I have been on many rides in my lifetime and some are really tame and some really scary! I have a limit as to what I can get myself to go on but am proud to say I have ridden the Pepsi Max Big One in Blackpool in the UK and the Hollywood Tower of Terror ride in MGM Studios in Orlando or Hollywood studios as it's now called. What is the best ride you have ever been on and what is it that makes it so good?

I have a lot of favorites but my all time is the Raptor at Cedar Point. They have a few that I really like but this one is the best. I love the speed. I also like how there is just a seat and your feet just hang. It is a very cool ride!

I have not been to Cedar point yet but have been told it's good and have checked all the rides out on the website - they all look amazing! Thanks for reply! x

It's pretty good. It has some really nice views from their coasters since it is surrounded by water and it is so pretty up in the air that high. Check it out some time.

i've been on rides that i hated because of the hard jostling. some were better than others. the ride which is my favorite once i got over the shock of the first time is the pirate ship or some places call the dragon. the name varies but it is a ship that swings back and forth getting higher and higher. i just love it and when i have the choice i ride it over and over. i guess because i've always like to swing and this takes it to the next level.

Tower of Terror in MGM is a good ride. I would go on that again. I dont know if it's the best ride I've been on, but the one I think I like the most is Escape from Pompeii, in Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Virginia. You go through ruins with fire like you were in pompeii with lava flowing all around you and then a large statue almost falls on you as you go out the door, and you go down a big waterslide and splash down. I like the special effects alot.

Wow that one in Busch gardens sounds great!Yes Tower of Terror is good although I hate rides that are completely vertical as it makes my tummy turn too much so I try to avoid them!! lol

I never been to the Disney World before in my life. I see it's always improving and awesome down there. Also the Fun Spot USA nearby where the World's tallest ever Skycoaster is right now. That Skycoaster down there is 300 feet high. We do have one up at The Six Flags Great Escape in Queensbury-Lake George, New York which is 175 feet high. Well I do certainly understand that some of the thrill rides around the world are scary. Don't forget the Busch Gardens - Tampa where I have been once before. Busch Gardens is really nice. Now did you ever read about ride accidents before. I know at least one of the accidents. The one at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom back a few years ago in which a rider lost her feet on an Intamin Giant Drop model, the Superman Tower of Power - formerly Hellevator. One of the cables that lift riders to the top of the tower before the free fall drop snapped. And during the free fall drop, that cable swung swiftly and severed the rider's feet at the ankles. That girl managed to have her right foot reattached while her left could not be saved at all due to broken femur. The injured girl and two of her friends were in that section of the ride. During the slow lift towards the top, the cable broke and the three friends were terrified and screaming to stop the ride now. But it continued operating. And when it dropped, the cable wrapped around her feet, ripping them both off. Similar rides were shut down for inspection because of that.

The Superman Tower Of Power which maimed the teenage girl was removed. The Park was fined a thousand dollars for failing to properly maintaining the ride. The Park was closed down as of 2010 due to failure to reach the lease aggreement with the Kentucky State Fair Board. The Park was last run was during the 2009 season.

Yes I heard about that accident. Terrible thing to happen. I have been to Tampa Busch 4 times now - quite good going considering I don't live in the USA but, it is one of my favourites parks! I hope to go in September if we come over to Florida but, it all depends. I really want to ride the new one Cheetah Hunt! x

Right now, I'm in love with Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom at Disney World! I love that it looks like a real mountain, that the ride is fast, that there's a part where it goes backgrounds in the dark, and the big drop. I'm a roller coaster junkie but haven't been to any theme parks outside of the United States. I'm working on that now since I married a military man and we travel a lot. He loves roller coasters just as much as I do....I'm just trying to get my daughter to be the same way! I also love the Hulk and Dueling Dragons at Universal in Orlando, Florida. And, I've been to Busch Gardens in Tampa like a hundred times. My mom works at Disney, my friend works at Universal, and we get into Busch Gardens for free since we are military....so why not love every minute of it.

That would be awesome getting in fro free and having friends working at Disney and Universal too!! Yes I agree the theme of expedition Everest is good and also the way they have done it is amazing! I too love duelling dragons and hulk and wish I could go to Florida every year! If you ever come to the Uk try Thorpe park as that is one of the best UK parks or even Blackpool pleasure beach or Alton towers! : )
