How hard is it to say goodbye?

Is it hard for you to say goodbye? Why? What's the hardest goodbye moment you experienced?
I was watching the final episode of a Japanese drama and it was the part when the main character is about to leave the school, her friends and her special someone... it made me recall how I had to say goodbye to some people in my life... both temporarily and permanently... it's hard... I couldn't help but cry in such times... it's like I'll never see them again or I'll never be with them again... well not at all times it ends that way... sometimes there are possibilities of being with them again... but still it is really hard... because you know you'll feel the loneliness for quite some time... yet someone somewhere will catch you and make you smile the same way someday...

its hard to say goodbye specially when you shared for a long moment. That, you'll be missing those memories. the sleeples nights and sometimes heartaches. that is why its is hard to say goodbye...

I think that saying goodbye is always hard but I find it easier if I can make plans to see them again. This way I do not feel like it is a goodbye so much as a see you later. It might seem silly but I have never cried when I said goodbye to someone that I had plans to see at some other point. The trick is to make the plans a definite things instead of just saying you will do something.
